Considerations
You may want to set up a clear area behind you in case you are on camera. You
may also want to find a quiet space from which to join the meeting and refrain from
eating and playing music. You may also consider using headphones for better
overall audio quality.
Joining Webex
Login to your course on OL and navigate to and click on the WebEx meeting link on
the course home page.
Click the Join Meeting b
utton (Note: I f the Start time of the meeting has not yet
passed, you will see a “This meeting is not yet available to join” message.):
After clicking J oin Meeting you may be prompted to download a small application
before you are able to join the meeting. What you see may be different than the
image below, but just follow the on-screen prompts to install the software and you
will be up and running in no time.
Managing Audio and Video Settings Before Entering the Meeting
When you finish installing the software you should be automatically brought to the
settings screen as shown below. If you need to change your Audio or Video sources,
click the S
ettings button in the bottom right. If your audio isn’t already muted, click
the microphone icon to mute it. When you are ready, click the green J oin Meeting
button.
Participating in the Meeting
Once in the meeting, you will see a toolbar along the bottom of the screen. From
left to right, you may: M
ute/Unmute your audio, Mute/Unmute your video, if you
are made the presenter you may Share Content, show/hide the P articipants
pane, show/hide the Chat pane, access M ore options to take notes or change your
audio/video settings, and Exit the meeting.
Downloading or Viewing Recordings
If your instructor recorded the meeting you may access it in the OL course.
Navigate back to the WebEx activity in OL and click on it. On the next page, you will
see information about the recording and buttons to either play or download it.
