The Dream of Harmonious Bangladesh: Some observations

It is said that the different communities in Bangladesh in terms of religion,

ethnicity, politics and other considerations have been in a harmonious position
since time memorial combating various types of adversities, negativity and
complexities where Bangladesh is considered as an imitative example of
communal harmony amid the racial and communal clashes and conflicts in some
affected countries of the world.

The assurance and materialization of communal, racial, religious and political

harmony, unity and unanimity are the abject demands of our time since the world
including Bangladesh is undergoing a considerable level of factionalism and
segregation in which the vicious cycles have got the opportunity to manipulate this
state of segregation of different sections rendering the conscious, sincere and
vigilant citizens into mutual mistrust, misunderstanding, doubt, clash and conflicts
among them.

Bangladesh has been suffered from varying degrees of communal violence in

different parts of its history where the world including Bangladesh has been a
victim of political anarchy, religious extremism, racial discrimination, economic
slowdown and such types of socio-economic, socio-political and geo-political
complications leading the common masses into lack of peace, harmony and
discipline among them.

Hopefully, the conscious and sincere citizens of Bangladesh has inaugurated a

socio-cultural organization called ‘Harmony Bangladesh’ responding the demand
of our critical time where the prominent persons and personalities from different
classes, professions and groups have assembled under a common platform to
combat all sorts of anomalies and abnormalities in preserving communal harmony,
unity and unanimity in Bangladesh.

As the members of the society and the citizens of the country, invariably we have
to preserve cultural diversity, diversity of thoughts, cultural pluralism, justified
freedom of speeches and freedom of the press etc. for the greater welfare, well-
being, goodness and properness of our common masses and conscious and
unconscious citizens.
Though Bangladesh is blessed with sufficient natural resources, the hospitality of
Bangladesh is satisfactory, the common people of Bangladesh has been affected
from less magnitude like the war-stricken countries; Bangladesh is yet to establish
itself as a good, welfare and progressive state in the world for its natural, political,
communal, economic and social calamities and backwardness.

Although Bangladesh has progressed in some socio-economic indices over the

years, the total Bangladesh is yet to achieve financial sufficiency, political
stability, infrastructural and super-structural improvement, development in the
basic needs of the people of the country and most importantly, the assurance of the
regularity and discipline in its attitudes, initiatives, performances and activities.

Moreover, Bangladesh has to uphold good level of patriotism, sense of

independence, good moral values, communal harmony and these types of good and
righteous aspects for ages. Otherwise, Bangladesh will not be able to retain its
continual improvement envisaged in the eyes of the international community and
the emancipation of the common masses from all sorts of socio-economic
adversities and anomalies will go under sheer uncertainty, doubt, backwardness
and frustration.

Some experts opine that Bangladesh has been a country of ‘Development

Dilemma’ like some countries in the world where the development and future of
Bangladesh have been stumbled, frustrated and obstructed by some
undeterminable, inexpressible and complex socio-economic, geo-political, natural
and international factors for which Bangladesh is yet to overcome its obstacles
while some of its contemporaries in terms of longevity and duration are thriving
with flying colours.

More research work should be conducted to find out the trends and behaviours in
the demographic, socio-economic, geo-political and such types of factors and
characteristics in Bangladesh so that the common people will judge themselves
how they are, what they actually do and what they actually should do to bring
about a satisfactory change to turn the wheel of their fortune.

Besides, the authorities concerned can guide, instruct and operate others in
materializing a Bangladesh free from all sorts of socio-economic complexities and
complications and full of peace, progress, affinity, flourish, civility and discipline.
The introduction of ‘Harmony Bangladesh’ and its subsequent public-affiliation
will certainly help lessen the differences of opinions and factions among different
parties and groups, preserve an environment of peace, harmony, co-operation and
co-existence among all, and bring them under a common platform in case of
national crisis irrespective of their affiliations with various factions.

It is imperative to note that the policy-makers and the authorities concerned of

Bangladesh should follow the models of development initiatives taken in different
parts of the world to receive instructions, messages and guidelines in order to bring
about a satisfactory change in the socio-economic spectrum in the developing
country like Bangladesh.

Bangladesh has to work hand in hand with its developing partners for years with
mutual trust and understanding in order to implement its development initiatives
with sheer professionalism, congeniality, sympathy and responsibility.

To raise public awareness, to highlight welfare, humanity, benevolence and other

issues good for the people, to understand and guide public emotion, passion and
behavior towards regular and disciplined development etc. are some of the good,
effective and efficient measures to be taken for the betterment of a promising
country like Bangladesh.
