ABSTRACT
The basic purpose of this report is to provide the details of the event “Gaming Storm PUBG”
arranged by the student branch of IEEE COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. Events
like these help students to work in a team environment, use their full capabilities and to co-
operate with the team fellows in order to achieve a goal. Rulings and the detail about rounds is
also given in the report. Further details about the event are provided in the Introduction
section.

INTRODUCTION
While the full title is Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, most people call it PUBG, because it’s not
quite a title that rolls off the tongue. The game itself is a take on the Battle Royale (or H1Z1:
King of the Kill, or The Hunger Games) concept - a number of people are released onto an
island, last person standing wins. To do that, you’ve got to find weapons, kill people you see,
and avoid danger. Each match pits about 100 people against each other, some of which can be
in teams, while others will be going it alone. Winners receive their prestigious ‘winner winner,
chicken dinner’ title, on top of an in-game currency that lets them purchase cosmetic items.
IEEE CUI this PRAXIS’ 19 conducted Gaming Storm PUBG for the second time and made every
possible effort to make this event amazing as the last time.

TOURNAMENT
The tournament held on 27th March, 2019 and was headed by Haris Akhtar and Hamza Waqar.
Their efforts made it possible and the tournament turned out to be a huge success. More than
70 participants participated in the battle in the form of squad. Participants had two choices
either play on their on devices which could be both laptop or cellphones or to play on the PC’s
provided by the management for the utmost ease of the players. There were three rounds
which participants had to survive in order to win. All the rounds were identical in rules and
playing style was same throughout the event. The scoring pattern was one point for one kill and
the last team standing received three points. The second team received two points and the
team that was on third position got one point. It was indeed a great event and definitely
attracted a huge amount of gamers towards it. After last round team the winning team were at
35 points greater than all the other teams and was awarded with a cash prize. The runner ups
scored 33 point and lost by just 2 points but there skills in the game were appreciated. All the
other participants seemed motivated to participate in such an event the next time as well.
