II. Rationalization

The purpose of this proposal is to divert the attention of youths to sports rather than to
drugs. To alleviate the chances of youths to be involve in prohibited drugs. Our main goal in
this proposal is not only to divert their attention to sports but also for them to enjoy and to
build unity and friendship also to show their hidden talents. We aim to prove that there are
still chances to regenerate the quotation of our hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal ,”Ang kabataan ang
pagasa ng bayan”. Because in this modern society it is slowly fading. Through this simple
proposal our intention is to help our co-youths, for us to be as one in preventing drug
addiction.

 To improve relationship among the community

Drug addiction has become a worldwide problem, especially in teenagers. That
affects our country, because teenagers are the hope of country in future, that’s why
teenagers are very important for development of one nation. Lack of self-confidence is
considered as one of the primary causes of drug addiction. In teenagers, especially
between the ages of fourteen and sixteen, low self-esteem due to physical appearance or
lack of friends can lead to self-destructive behavior. The media, bullies, and often family
put pressure on teenagers to act and look a certain way, and they lose confidence in
themselves if they don’t meet those high standards. Drugs and alcohol seem like an easy
way to escape this reality. It can also be due to excessive stress, peer pressure, having
family problem and other relationship problems, lack of parental involvement in child’s
activities. Personal and family problems also lead to drug abuse among teenagers who

fail to deal with personal problems. They uses drugs as a method of entertaining

themselves to ease the pain until it passes. Today, we are living in a highly competitive
world and it is difficult to grow in such world. There is always a peer pressure in young
people. However, it is never visible. A lot of young people expect to experience the
pressure to use drugs, smoke and drink alcohol. They are curious to try those drugs that
are prohibited that may lead to influence their other co youths. It might begin with
experimenting. Most young people are naturally curious and want to experiment with
different experiences. A friend or your loved one’s must have tried it once out of
curiosity because of friends or just to cope up with a problem. The pressure of being
around others who are abusing drugs or alcohol can make anyone follow suit and do

things that they never thought they would. In the early stages, one might really find it
helpful to erase some problems or make one’s life better, which leads to more and more
consumption of drugs. The desire to try new things and become more independent is
healthy, but it may also increase teen’s tendencies to experiment and get addicted with
drugs. Such acts of drug abuse can have devastating effects, consequences of teen drug
abuse can include legal trouble, like time in jail, and prolonged substance abuse.

Using illegal drug has many negative effects in our body. If you use drugs and alcohol,
you’re more likely to experience physical injury or be involved in car accidents. Even worse,

you also have an increased risk of death and through both suicide and homicide. Harm to
organs and system in your body, such as your throat, stomach, lungs, liver, heart, brain, and
nervous system. You may act differently, feel differently and think differently if you have
taken drugs. And you may struggle to control your actions and thoughts. You might begin to
use drugs without thinking about any harm to your body. You might think drugs won't
become a problem because you are only a casual user.

The more you take a drug, the more likely you are to build up a tolerance to its effects.
This can lead to the need to take larger doses to obtain the effects of the drug. For this reason,
evidence suggests that after prolonged use, many drugs can cause dependence. Drug
dependence can quickly begin to affect your psychological and physical health, and can also
affect your work and social life. It is important to remember that there is no safe level of drug
use.

 We as a youths, we want to help our co youths divert their attention in drugs. To help
them while it is early. It is also our help to our President Rodrigo Duterte on his advocacy
and on fighting drug abuse or “war on drugs”. In 2017, Duterte claimed that there were
around 4 million drug users in the Philippines. In this simple program we want to conduct,
this will help to divert the attention of our co- youths in drugs. Through conducting a league,
playing sports and games, we can discourage young people from using illegal drugs and
educate them on harmful impact of this illegal drugs to an individual and to society as whole.
We aim to prove that there are still chances to regenerate the quotation of our hero Dr. Jose P.

to help our co-youths, for us to be as one in preventing drug addiction.

We dream to have a country that is free of drug menace, we all want to put an end to
the killings and criminality brought about illegal drug industry. So as a youth, we encourage
to share this dream and start putting it into reality. We will encourage them to join some
recreational activities to reverse their attention on drugs. We will promote the importance of
Education and family. Lastly, encourage them to practice the healthier living habits.
