This goal focuses on the English language learner students that come into my classroom for instruction. I wish to be able to
give them more opportunities to be a part of the classroom instruction and assignments when they are in my classroom for
their mathematics instruction in order for them to have the opportunity to make progress and growth in math and understanding
the English language. This is one of my goals because I want my students to feel and see that I do want them to learn and
succeed and that school is not a place where they go to just sit and stare at the walls.

Goal 1 - What will you need to support you in attaining this goal?
Suggested sources of support are listed in the drop-down menu below. You may choose from that list or identify your support

Goal 1 - Estimated Hours to Complete:

Goal 1 Mid-Year Report of Progress
I have focused on one specific fifth-grade student that has been very shy at school, around his classmates and teachers. He
speaks very little and mostly uses gestures and 2 word sentences. Routine during math instruction will be very helpful for him
to become comfortable and accustomed to rules and expectations.
Goal 1: Hours Completed at Mid-Year:
Remember to "Save Observation" after entering your report!

Goal 1 End-of-Year Report on Progress Report

The ELL student that I have focused on, has improved immensely. He enjoys greeting and saying goodbye to me everyday, he
speaks full sentences with his teachers and classmates and does not need or want to use gestures anymore. During the math
instruction, he is placed in a small, tier 2, where I can focus on his needs. Throughout the school year, he participated, followed
along, and copied down the work into his own workbook. His MCOMP scores improved throughout the year. I would have
wanted to also be able to print out in class work into his native language for him to able to better understand the concepts the
class was working on.
