INTRODUCTION
Farming contributes a lot in agriculture, which is divided in several types; namely there is Traditional agriculture, intensive agriculture — which uses
pesticides, machinery and chemical fertilizers, organic farming and integrated farming.
The Aeroponics system is simple, it uses minimal amount of water and zero amount of soil. This process of growing plants uses micro jets to spray the
plants' bare roots with fine, high pressure mist that contains nutrient rich solutions; providing for the growth and development of detached plants. The system is
composed of units controlled electronically to ensure the pre-determined necessities of a growing plant (www.actahort.org).
To promote and stimulate healthy growth in the plants, a chamber containing water based solutions is used. Some choose to combine both hydroponics
and Aeroponics to produce an even stronger and healthier plants and crops; they call this method the hydro-Aeroponics.
Using this process of growing plants has its benefits and drawbacks. It uses considerably less energy and water than Traditional farming/agriculture, less
maintenance is needed, the plants' roots in this system are exposed to sufficient oxygen, it grows plants faster than conventional means, old plants in Aeroponics
can effortlessly be replaced with new ones, plants grow more densely for roots are not fighting for the same nutrients as they would be in the soil, and lastly the
absence of soil makes Aeroponics crops easier to harvest.
With correlation to agricultural problems having lost resources, Aeroponics resolves many concerns. Using no soil, zero waste, and little water, there are
many advantages that this system has. It is also becoming the solution in filling the growing need to conserve water and energy. Aeroponics provides healthy food
systems and can be done even in urbanized areas, indoors and high density populations.

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

The study was conducted to compare the growth and yield of Ocimum basillicum in using traditional farming, and aeroponics
technology. On top of that, foodborne illnesses are notoriously difficult to trace, produce grown by outdoor farms carries a higher risk of
foodborne illnesses than a greenhouse or vertical farm. In view of this, experiments had shown that the average height of Ocimum basilicum
at harvest was 13% higher in Aeroponics Technology than in Traditional Farming. It also revealed that a higher growth in Aeroponics
Technology with 4.3 cm compared to Traditional Farming with 3.75 cm in their weekly height measurements. Furthermore, comparative
analysis showed that the total mass of the leaves produced in Aeroponics Technology has a higher yield at 0.135 g of Ocimum basilicum than
at 0.08 in Traditional Farming. In conclusion to this, aeroponics provides the best means of growing plants effectively than traditional farming.
