The goals and / or objective of research

The goal of this research is to find out the influence of Cooperative Integrated Reading
Methods in Teaching Narrative Text to Improve Student’s Reading Comprehension at the second
grade of SMP Negeri 1 Banda Aceh.

Cooperative integrated reading methods is essentially to enhance the students ability to

read and understand the text. In this method each learner is responsible for the group’s duties.
Each group member gives ideas for completing a concept and completing task, thus forming the
same understanding and learning experience. This method can develop a student’s thinking skills
and develop social interactions, tolerance, communication, and respect for other’s ideas. Because
of this reason, cooperative integrated reading methods in is affective way to teach Narrative text.
