3.0 PROCEDURE

Procedures

1. Fill water into the water tank until approximately 90% full.
2. Attach the artificially roughened bed to the flume channel and ensure that it is at
the bottom of its travels.
3. Fully close the control valve, and then switch on the pump.
4. Gradually open the control valve and allow the piping to fill with water until all air
has been expelled from the system.
5. Set the level gauge some way to measure the water height of the flow.
6. Open the control valve and admit the water flow rate 90LPM.
7. Measure and tabulate the value of y0, y1, x, A, R, S, n.
8. Repeat the experiment with flow rate increment 10LPM and different slope
