HUMAN ANIMAL CONFLICT -BARANIKERTHI.S(19E604) DATE: 6TH MARCH 2020 DAY: FIRDAY TIME: 4:30 PM A guest lecture on human animal conflict by Mr.Shanmugasundharam planiswamy was conducted by animal welfare club in our college. it was an wonderful lecture.we gained more knowledge on wild animals. He gave us wide view on animals such as elephant,tiger,black buck,leopard,etc.later on, in the lecture he stated the difference between albino gaur (wild cow) and wild buffalo .he said the interesting story about the origin of wild buffalo in ooty. He also stated how actually the conflict between Humans and animals occur and how dangerous it is to enter the forest without prior permission. He gave a wide view on how the conflict occur and gave us some incidents and their photos. He stated how we should act Infront of wild animals, and said some of his breath taking incidence occurred in his life. He stated how the actual food chain goes on, and the importance of each and every wild animal. He stated how they handle wild animals that enter into people’s living area and also said how actually the process takes place, mainly in case of elephant .he stated elephant can cause damages mainly on day time, so that elephants are driven on evening or night time . he said all forest are dangerous irrespective of their size. He said us to avoid going near forest area at night or late evening.he asked not to feed wild animals with food.he stated that people are turning animals into beggars .He said about the increasing accident of monkeys on road ,occured due to feeding . many animals may face habitant extinct due to the feeding problem. he asked us to maintain the forest area free of plastics. He said about kumki which is a trained elephant used to control the wild elephants, he said about the mudhumalai elephant camp and how they train elephants. At the end of lecture he asked us to join the forest department in making the forest plastic free, educate our friends about the danger in forest and wild animals. We understood that the human and animals conflict can be solved only when we people completely understand about wild animal and leave them a safe space ,called forest. As a closing ceremony ,vote of thanks was given and a small token of appreciation was given to our valuable guests.
