NAME: KEERTHANA SOLAINATHAN

PROGRAM APPLYING: HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION

ABOUT MYSELF

I am very thankful for providing me with this inordinate opportunity and it is with
great enthusiasm and sincere indulgence, I hereby brief my statement of purpose. I
had a successful school career and I am equally enthusiastic in sports and athletics
as well.

My explorations in higher secondary school helped me secure an aggregate of 96%

of marks which paved way for entry into an undergraduate program in Bachelor of
Dental surgery from Sri Ramakrishna dental college and hospital Coimbatore,
affiliated to Dr.MGR University, Chennai. I look forward to improve my
knowledge and skills in Health care management to know the managerial aspects
in the health care industry. As I am a certified Dentist in India and looking forward
in establishing a small hospital in my home country and this graduate program will
help me to run my business in an optimum manner.

My schooling was from Jawahar Higher secondary School, in the perfect

atmosphere of which I gradually flourished as a versatile person and I secured “10
CGPA” in 10th grade. Faculty encouraged me to do some extracurricular activities
other than academics; it helped me to become a better and an extrovert child. I
opted for Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and at Intermediate level,
excelled with an overall aggregate of 94.6%.

UNDERGRADUATE COURSEWORK:
I aspired to be a dentist to serve the patients and luckily I had an opportunity to
join a prestigious and one of the top institutions in Tamil Nadu named “Sri
Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital”, through which I developed good
diagnostic skills using hospital knowledge and x-ray. Exceptional theoretical
knowledge, ability to handle different types of patients and competent knowledge
of hospital practice and protocols. I have also attended many hospital workshops
which helped me to gain knowledge in different fields of dentistry. Health has
profound lasting effects on patient’s lives and hence I look forward to embracing
and dedicating myself to a lifelong career in medicine.
WHY CANADA?
Canada is one of the most beautiful and multicultural nations in the world. The
quality of education and standard of living are among the highest in the world, the
cost of living and tuition fees are generally lower than in other countries. Canada
enjoys a reputation of being a great country that treats its citizens well. It is rarely
involved in global conflicts and its people while very diverse live in harmony.
Canada’s educational system is a well-balanced system.
The high standards of academic milieu and good infrastructure facilities in Canada
attracted me more. To fuel up my passion further in the field of health care
administration, I endeavor to pursue my higher education and acquire necessary
skills in this field. Having a Canadian Education and from an eminent College will
fair me back in India a good career which offers me a great opportunity for my
professional and personal growth.
Apart from education I can learn to be peaceful and polite for which the Canadians
are well known for.
WHY AT CANADORE COLLEGE?
Once, I decided upon Canada as my study destination, I selected colleges like
Lambton, George Brown, Georgian and Cambrian. But while coming to the course
structure I had found Canadore College and Fanshawe College are providing a
good set of modules which will help me to get deeper in to the subject. As I had
applied to both Canadore College and Fanshawe College and I got offer letter
from both the colleges but comparing both the colleges Canadore had some
wonderful reviews and feedback from internet research and few of my friends in
Canada.
Moreover, I seek an atmosphere that will nourish and facilitate my creativity and
research aspiration. From the information the college has provided over the
website about the excellent research facilities and eminent faculty with use of
modern, industry standard software and the vibrant atmosphere of the academy
have really attracted me. Moreover, the program offered by the college provides an
opportunity to the individual to gain real time experience about the subject he had
learnt.
APPLYING THIS COURSE?
Canadore College It helps me to prepare for a leadership role in a variety of health
care settings and learn all aspects of health care operations and concepts as they
relate to multi-disciplinary team. This one year program will prepare me to be
more responsive to different cultures and behaviors in a number of situations and
environment. As I am an eminent Dentist, back home I always wanted to run a
hospital of my own in my home country. So I thought this would give me a
dominant idea over the management aspects of dealing with an health care industry
and international exposure which would give me more confidence in my
managerial approaches.
