Landscapes with Chalk Pastels

Kindergarten - 1st Grade

Day 1: Practice
❏ Powerpoint on Landscapes
❏ Foreground, middle ground, background)
❏ Go over lines with arms (vertical, Horizontal, Diagonal)
❏ Practice on Copy paper with crayons
❏ Draw 5 lines
❏ More hilly the further you go back
❏ Color in lines
❏ Color Sky Blue
❏ Get Blue 8.5” x 11” Paper & draw 5 lines with black crayon
❏ Write name on back

Day 2: Chalk Pastels

❏ Use chalk pastels to color in landscape
❏ Use 5 DIFFERENT colors
❏ Keep top blue for sky
❏ Put newsprint or newspaper under project before starting
❏ Copy paper under box of chalk pastels
❏ Paper towel for other hand
❏ When finished fold up into newsprint or newspaper
❏ Laminate them!

8.5” x 11” Blue Paper
Copy Paper
Newspaper or News Print
Chalk Pastels
Crayons
Pencils
Paper Towels

Notes: Very Messy!
