Abstract. Department of Mechanical Engineering in State University of Malang has practical course of advanced CNC
using CNC PU 3A Milling machine, to reach the needed competence then it was necessary to conduct innovative and
creative learning development. This development was interactive media of flash program that developed based on
learning implementation plan of advance CNC classes in Department of Mechanical Engineering State University of
Malang. The development of this advanced CNC PU 3A Milling Fanuc System learning media adopted ADDIE
development model. The steps of ADDIE model were: 1) analysis; 2) design; 3) development; 3) development; 4)
implementation; 5) evaluation. Instrument that used to collect data was questionnaire that given to the media expert;
material expert, and also small group test for 15 respondents (students). Data obtained from observation result was
qualitative data that considered as initial data and quantitative data obtained from scoring result. The need analysis data
showed that it was necessary to conduct learning media development of advanced CNC PU 3A Milling Fanuc System.
Data from validation result was quantitative data that translated on its validity. The result of content validation to the
feasibility and easiness of this learning media utilization showed valid result. Validation result from media expert was
93.1%, from material expert was 88.4%, and from small group test was 88,6%.

INTRODUCTION
Quality education requires the educators who are able and ready to contribute professionally in the school
environment. So that, the educators must have ability in delivering appropriate materials which is taught.
Professional educators must be able to stimulate learners by using media learning interesting and innovative.
The learning process is a process of communication and take place in a system, the learning media has
important position as one component of the learning system. Without the media, communication will not occur
and the learning process as a communication process also can not take place optimally.
Learning media is an integral component of the learning system. So everything that can deliver the message,
can stimulate the mind, feeling, and the willingness of students so can encourage the creation of a learning
process on self-learners [1].
Some types of media are: a) Visual Media: graphics, diagrams, charts, posters, cartoons, comics b) Audial
Media: radio, tape recorders, language laboratories, and the like c) Projected still media: slide; over head
projector (OHP), in focus, etc. d) Projected motion media: movies, television, video (VCD, DVD, VTR),
computers, etc. In essence, learning media that determines the outcome of learning [2].

When applied the media in learning process, it will attract students because it is a combination of sight,
sound and motion. There are several media applications that can be used in making learning media. Such as PPT
(PowerPoint), Macromedia, Prezi desktop and flash program. Those applications have strenghts and weakness.
Flash media is media that can support learning of CNC PU 3A Milling machines with Fanuc system.
Flash program expected to be media that can be used to provide instruction to the students. In addition,
students will understand easily and can see directly the CNC PU 3A Milling machines with Fanuc system used
in this media. The use of flash media as a program for learning CNC PU 3A Milling with Fanuc system serves
to learn about CNC PU 3A Milling machines with Fanuc system.
Learning media will work better if it has three factors: (1) teacher or lecturer as instructor, (2) the book or
modules as a guide and (3) learning media in the form of media so that the learning outcomes could be achieved.
CNC PU 3A Milling with Fanuc systems which is studied in the Department of Mechanical Engineering,
State University of Malang all this time, just deliver how to operate CNC PU 3A Milling with Fanuc system,
then practiced by students. Teaching method used in CNC PU3A Milling system Fanuc Mechanical Engineering
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, State University of Malang is development media of CNC machine PU3A
Milling system Fanuc by using flash for teaching process. Because of the importance of learning for students
of State University of Malang Faculty of Engineering or production who are studying about sistem Fanuc CNC
Milling for production process.
Some applications commonly used in the teaching process is a Power Point (PPT), micromedia, adobe flash.
In the learning media used in the learning process is adobe flash, because this application can load some support
for the learning process. Lessons consist of a general introduction CNC PU 3A Milling machines with Fanuc
system along with parts of it, learning about PU3A CNC Milling machines with this Fanuc system.
Flash program expected to be media that can be used as learning media for students to understand and see
directly CNC PU 3A Milling machines with Fanuc system used in this media. The use of flash media as a
program to provide learning CNC PU 3A Milling with Fanuc system.
The purpose of this development is to develop products in the form of a CD in which includes about media
learning on CNC machines PU3A Milling system with Fanuc in the Department of Mechanical Engineering,
State University of Malang to facilitate the learning process on CNC machines PU3A Milling system Fanuc in
general, which can be taught theoretical and practical.

METHODS
The development method used is the addie development model, as the basis for development of learning
media based on interactive media for learning CNC PU 3A Milling with Fanuc system. Reasons for the
selection of ADDIE development model, development of learning media is conducted by several stages of
activities as they appear on the stage of development. Before getting into the area prior analysis determined the
subjects that will be developed in this learning media. In this study selected learning CNC PU 3A Milling with
Fanuc system for bachelor students of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, State
University of Malang.
There are 5 procedures in ADDIE development method, they are: analysis of development needs; design
competence, include special competence, teaching materials and strategies; development which includes the
preparation of the product editing and testing; implementation, and evaluation.
The trials used in the assessment of learning media CNC PU3A Milling system with Fanuc on a flash
program is validation of products provided to the lecturers Mechanical Engineering who are media specialist
and subject matter expert to assess the validity or piety or accuracy of the product developed, and after
validating the product, it will be tested to the bachelor students of Mechanical Engineering Education who
already take a course in CNC-advanced in small group.
The type of data obtained in the development of interactive multimedia learning media flash program are
two, they are quantitative data and qualitative data. The quantitative data is data from questionnaire given to the
lecturers of Mechanical Engineering who are expert in media and expert in subject matter, as well as the
respondent (bachelor students of Mechanical Engineering Education). Qualitative data can be obtained from
comments, criticisms, and suggestions provided by the lecturers of Mechanical Engineering who are expert in
media and expert subject matter.
Data collection instruments used were observation / survey and questionnaire, observation / survey is used to
analyze the needs of development relating of existing facilities in learning CNC-advanced, the learning process
CNC-advanced and analysis of interactive media flash program that is already on course CNC-advanced,
observations / this survey is done by giving a check mark (√) in question has been provided. While the
questionnaire was used to analyze the products of interactive multimedia flash program developed, this

questionnaire is semi closed because in the questionnaire contained questions with a check mark (√) and advise
on aspects provided in the questionnaire.
The questionnaire used is type that contain rating scale questionnaire. Questionnaire rating scale was a
questionnaire containing questions followed by columns that show the levels. This questionnaire also
accompanied by a response in the form of suggestions for revision purposes. Data analysis techniques used in
analyzing quantitative data in the form of a questionnaire score ratings for lecturers of Mechanical Engineering
who are expert in media and expert in subject matter and bachelor students of Mechanical Engineering
Education in small groups by calculating the percentage of responses.

Mean while, as the basis for a decision to revise the learning media used product qualification assessment
criteria adapted from [3].

Developed learning media can be said to be successful and in accordance with the level of appropriateness
criteria, interactive multimedia instructional media program flash when the score reached a value of at least
76%.

DEVELOPMENT RESULT

Needs Analysis Result


Needs analysis is an early stage to determine whether required development in learning media CNC PU 3A
Milling with Fanuc systems, needs analysis is given to 10 respondents who are students of Mechanical
Engineering Education Program, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Malang.
Based on the results of a needs analysis can be concluded that, machine learning CNC PU 3A Milling
system Fanuc is already goes well with the availability of supporting facilities of learning, learning method is
good and also the presence of learning media that is media program flash, but for learning CNC machining PU
3A Milling with Fanuc system has not been submitted, the learning module CNC PU 3A Milling machines with
Fanuc system is still in the drafting process.

This media has some weakness, they are: voice used, the video display, image display, and simulation of
CNC PU3A Milling machines with Fanuc system used. These weaknesses can be solved by reforming and
developing media for CNC PU3A Milling machines with Fanuc system using flash program.

Learning Media Design CNC PU 3A Milling with Fanuc System Result


The result of this design is based on the procedure of learning development. In the procedure of the
development of learning media are covering the design of specific competencies, namely competency to be
achieved in learning media on CNC PU 3A Milling machines with Fanuc systems, materials, and strategies in
the form of storyboard.

Development Result
Media Expert Validation Result
Media expert validation held on October 30, 2014 by Mr. Sukarni S.T., M.T., a professor of Mechanical
Engineering, State University of Malang. The results of the analysis of media experts concluded that the total
score of all aspects obtained from media expert validation that the maximum score of 108 out of 116 ideal with
a percentage of 93.1% and categorized valid. Thus developed learning media as a whole considered valid and
deserve, it means the media should not be revised.

Subject Matter Expert Validation Result


Validation matter experts held on October 30, 2014 by Drs. Yuni Sunarto, M.Pd., a professor of Mechanical
Engineering, State University of Malang. The results of the expert analysis of the material, it can be concluded
that the total score of all aspects of the material obtained from expert validation that 97 of the 108 ideal
maximum score obtained with the percentage of 89.8%. Thus developed learning media is considered valid and
deserve or noneed to be revised.

Implementation Trial Result in Small Group


Validation small group test held on 30-31 October 2014 by 15 respondents who are students Mechanical
Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Malang. The results of the validation test in small
group, it is concluded that the total score of all aspects obtained from test groups: 689 of 780 ideal maximum
score obtained by the percentage of 88.611%. Thus developed learning media is considered valid and deserve or
noneed to be revised.

REVISION

Product Revision

Based on the analysis of data and the advice of the validators (media expert and subject matter expert) and
respondents then the developers improve the product of learning media of CNC PU-3A Milling machine with
Fanuc system can be said to be finished product, the color selection key sub on flash be fixed and lighten the
video content from media learning. And adding a video tutorial on programming manually and to the respondent
member musical accompaniment that correspond to learning media and packing in the form of a CD.

Product Final Result


Product of learning media on CNC PU-3A Milling with Fanuc system that has been validated and revised so
it becomes a finished product that is deserve to use by students and some people who want to study about CNC
Milling machine with a Fanuc system. This learning media can be used without install any software, by using
interactive CD it can automatically run when CD read on a computer in a directly by clicking projek.exe file.
For more details are presented learning media display CNC PU-3A Milling with Fanuc system.

CONCLUSION

Study of Product Development Learning Media PU-3A CNC Milling with Fanuc system
after being revised
Learning media of CNC PU 3A Milling machine with Fanuc system is a learning media that combining text,
images, animation, sound, video and simulations that designed for learning of CNC PU 3A Milling machine
with Fanuc system, so it can be used in teaching in general or lecturer of the course and students in learning
activities. Display of learning media product of CNC PU 3A Milling machine with Fanuc system which has
become the final product development consists of a main menu page or home, goal page that consist of the
destination learning media development of CNC PU 3A Milling machine with Fanuc system, the opening page
(function buttons, controls machine, program control, function G code and M code, how to turn on the machine,
how to turn off the machine, the equipment, and programmer manually). Tutorial page contain about setting of
CNC PU 3A Milling machine with Fanuc system (see tool number of chisel, call the chisel to be mounted on a
spindle, install and remove the chisel on the pocket CNC, turning chisel with a certain speed, setting the chisel
in the form, choose the position of the origin of the object work), transfer the program to the CNC PU 3A
Milling machine with Fanuc system (copy a program from the memory card to the memory of CNC and copy
the program from memory CNC to a memory card), editing program on a CNC PU 3A Milling machine with
Fanuc system (open programs stored in memory CNC, editing programs stored in the memory of CNC, erase
programs stored in memory CNC), the execution of the workpiece on CNC PU 3A Milling machine with Fanuc
system (call the program that will be done, a preparatory step before the execution, the execution of the
workpiece from memory CNC, start the execution of the mid workpiece program), the author lists the author
biodata page of learning media CNC PU 3A Milling machine with Fanuc system. Programming manually (make
facing program code in the form of video, making contour program code in the form of video, making the drill
program code). The strength of Learning Media of CNC PU 3A Milling machine is helping the students to
understand individually (individual learning) because the level of understanding of each student is different.
This can create an effective learning climate for students who are slow to learn (slow learner) and can also
reinforce the effectiveness of learning for students faster (fast learner). Increase motivation and attention of
students to learn the matter of CNC PU-3A Milling machines with Fanuc system. Learning media by using CD
is very flexible, can be studied anywhere and anytime with the condition have a computer that there is a DVD
player so that the learning process does not only take place in the campus environment.
