Micro-polit ical Leadership

Read Across America

Combs Magnet Elementary School hosted a Read
Across America Day event where educational
stakeholders of North Carolina read to the students. I
represented Enloe Magnet High School and the
principal, Dr. Will Chavis, as a community reader.

Class Auct ion

I enjoyed being a book Auctioneer for an English class
at Enloe Magnet High School during my principal
residency. The students were choosing literary classics
of which they would write a review. This event was the
beginning of some relationships with students, a
memory made with others, and an academic
empowerment for all.

Charit y Ball
Enloe Magnet High School has raised more than $1
million for local charities over the last 15 years through
the annual Charity Ball. This year, we raised over
$200,000 for Southeast Raleigh Promise. I represented
the Administrative Team at the ball while supervising
the event. I enjoyed spending time with all of the
stakeholders present.

No Kid Hungry Conference

I attended the No Kid Hungry Conference with the
Wake Principal Leadership Program. In addition, I was
able to support our teachers as they presented our
Second Chance Breakfast initiative at Enloe Magnet
High School through No Kid Hungry.

Parent Teacher St udent

Associat ion
I attended and presented at the Parent Teacher
Student Association (PTSA) events including the
Community Visioning Project, Better Together
Dinner, Parent Equity Team Meetings, and Meet Us
at the Mansion event at the Governor 's Mansion. I
developed strong relationships with our teachers
and parents through these extracurricular activities.
