Lesson Objectives
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

- Greet each other in Spanish, formulate simple questions and answers


- Introduce themselves, give more details about themselves: name,
age, nationality
- Ask students’ names, give their telephone number
- Recognize Spanish vocabulary similar to other languages
- Say numbers in Spanish
- Utilize the Spanish alphabet
Time Lesson structure

15’ - Learning how to say Hola, me llamo…, ¿Que tal? and
practicing amongst themselves through different activities
(pair work, ball game)
10’ - Recognizing Spanish vocabulary that are similar to words in
other languages: hotel, bar, libro, aeropuerto, etc. (pair
work. Students will brainstorm the meaning of these words,
and then discuss with all class)
15’ - Going through the Spanish alphabet, pronouncing each letter
correctly, learning about pronunciation rules.
20’ - Learning numbers 1-20. Teacher says numbers, class
repeats. Teacher checks pronunciation, and class practices
the numbers by doing the following activities: each student
says one number until 20, in pairs they give their telephone
numbers to each other.
20’ - Learning about nationalities: masculine and feminine, how to
form the nouns, then they share their nationalities, read
about nationalities in textbook.
15’ - Learning how to form bigger numbers and talk about their
age, in pairs they say their age and nationalities. More
exercises with numbers.
15’ - Learning and recognizing Latin American music, talking about
cultural issues.
10’ - Assigning homework, giving explanations, answering
students’ questions.
