Objectives:
Scholars will be able to demonstrate comprehension of verb conjugation concepts
by conjugating Spanish common regular AR/ER/IR verbs.
Students will be able to use present tense verbs in a sentence successfully.
Students will understand the main idea of a greeting song.
Introduction Hook:
Start with greeting song in Spanish:

Next, introducing ourselves in Spanish. First student will say, Me llamo. Cmo te
llamas? Then, pass the ball to the next student who will introduce him/herself until
everyone in the class has introduced themselves in Spanish.
Formative Assessment:
Activate prior knowledge by asking what me llamo means in English? Why is it
llamo? What specifically makes llamo the I form? Does anyone remember what the
other endings are the you, he/she, we and they form?
Steps in the Lesson:
1. While the students answer the question about the other ending begin to
create a verb chart of their answers on the board. (AR verbs)
2. Make verb chart of ER and IR verbs.
3. Explain what an infinitive is and what the stem of the verb is.
a. Step one drop the AR from the infinitive
b. Step two add the correct ending to the stem of the verb
4. Practice conjugation. (hablar, comer, vivir)
5. Give example of how sentences will look. (Ben y yo= nosotros)
Closure Activity/Wrap-up:
Handout worksheet and monitor students. Go over worksheet.

Summative Assessment:
Quiz (posttest) that will act as exit ticket.
