Before the concrete was cast into moulds, I calculated
the slump value of the fresh concrete and also
insulated the inner surfaces of all the moulds using
tape so that the concrete does not get stuck to the
surface during the time of demoulding and the fresh
concrete was cast into the moulds immediately after
mixing, in three layers for cubic and cylindrical
specimens. For compaction of the specimens, I gave
each layer 60 to 80 manual strokes using a rodding
bar, and then vibrated each of them for 12 to 15
seconds on a vibrating table.
