Ans:
Definition- It is a device used to the drying of the wet products of the crude
drugs, chemicals, panders or the granules etc.
Principal- Hot-air circulation.
2. Define overall efficiency & reflux ratio of distillation column. Ans:
Pressure drop on Distillation tower-
When pressure drop increase the separation of two liquid will be
difficult as volatility is decreased. Increase pressure drop reduce
d separation efficiency. It increases reflux ratio & molar flow
rate.

3. What is the effect of pressure drop om distillation tower.

Ans:
Overall efficiency: -
It is the ratio of shaft output power by the turbine to the water power
available at inlet of the turbine.
= Actual power delivered to the pump × 100
Reflux ratio of distillation column
➢ It is the ratio between boil up rate & take off rate.
➢ It is ratio between the amount of reflux that goes back down the
distillation column and the amount of reflux that is collected in the
receiver.
4. What is the basic heat transfer operation explain with suitable examples. Ans:
