ABSTRACT

This paper presents a research and development on integrated approach in sustainability of

drainage scheme in Western Johore, Malaysia. The study assessed the siltation problems at
the outlet of tidal control gates and various mitigation measures have been simulated to
mitigate the inundation problems in the drainage scheme. This study has been divided to 3
parts, site inspections to determine what leaded the siltation problems in front of the tidal
control gates , Mike 11 has been developed to predict the amount of flows, water levels and
velocities along the drainage scheme and at the control gates, and meanwhile Mike 21 has
been used to investigate the coastal processes along the shoreline.
