1. Why should be ELT trend in Asia?

Answer :
The English Language Teaching (ELT) trend in Asia because the fact that English has
become an international language. According to Crystal (1997), English is the language that has
spread throughout the world most extensively and is dominating in a number of important fields
including international commerce, education, and communication. Asia is not an exception to
such a global trend. Many Asian countries have included English in the school curriculum in
recognition that “it can contribute to students’ personal, linguistic, social, and cultural
development” (Le, 2004, p. 167). For example, in many post-colonial countries such as India
and the Philippines, English was chosen as one of the official languages and is still effectively
functioning as a dominant language. Moreover, the countries which had once opposed foreign
influence such as Korea, Japan, and China are now giving English language teaching and
learning much greater priority in their foreign language policy (Tsui, 2004). Moreover, the

2. What do you think of about ELT trends class?

Answer:
In my opinion ELT trend class is very important for us to get information and make easy
to learn English. Here there is the name ELT. ELT can make it easier for students to learn
English, by continuing to practice and practice one's skills. ELT makes large countries like China
and India continue to send existing students or teachers to the US, with the aim of improving
existing English language skills and helping maintain the country's economy. ELT is a short
story because there are economic needs between countries, such as exports and imports,
investment between countries, etc. Countries continue to invest a large portion of their money to
improve the existing education system with the hope that in the future ELT can make it easier for
its people to master a second language, English. In the ELT trends class a survey was conducted
in 16 countries the survey consisted of open-ended on the status of English, the starting grade of
English language education, English class hours per week, the national curriculum, school
textbooks (example types and authors), the use of computer, the instructional medium of English
classes, tertiary Engish education teacher ( native speakers or non-native speakers).
