WEEK 1

 Ms. Thao Nguyen, IELTS P (2/7/2019)


 Strengths observed
- Teacher was well prepared with creative activities (Bingo game, “Fact or fiction”).
- Students were encouraged to choose they own English names, which helped
connect them to the learning environment.
- Teacher had good rapports with students, as well as good insight of students’
capacity.
- Students were usually stimulated to express their opinions whether they were
correct or not.
- Phone usage of students was restricted, limited to looking up dictionary.
- Teacher gave proper usage of concept-checking questions.
 Suggestion for improvement
- Instruction should be clarified, especially when organizing complex games; make
sure the student understands the rule before playing.
- There should be some time allotted for reviewing the knowledge which students
acquired.
- Teacher ought to pay more attention to inactive students.

 Ms. Provi, IELTS F (4/7/2019)


 Strengths observed
- Outstanding verbal skills, namely pronunciation and intonation, good model for
students to improve their own speaking skills.
- Procedure was well established, backed by well-founded understanding of learning
materials and careful preparation.
- Teacher frequently facilitated students to practice speaking and discussing, thereby
helped them to recognize their errors and correct them.

 Suggestion for improvement


- Teacher should ask more checking questions to anticipate students’ understanding.
- More audio or visual illustration.
 Ms. Chau Nguyen, TOEIC 2 (5/7/2019)
 Strengths observed
- Teacher navigated student to use Internet-based resources to enhance learning
experience.
- Natural and attractive teaching style.
- Super interactive with students.
- Deep understand of learning materials.
- Blended game (quick “hangman” game to check students’ memory).

 Suggestion for improvement


- Teacher should use more English, though it is reasonable that this is a TOEIC class
with less communicating intention.
