An electronical portfolio also known as an ePortfolio have been used for many years.
Electronic portfolios can be used for learning and assessments in students’ education career.
They can be used to collect documents and produce learning in different formats. “ePortfolios, as
tools, allow students to have their own set of management tools that they control and own so their
learning is longitudinal instead of episodic. (Batson, 2010)” A portfolio can house a student work
they have completed over a period of time. They can also be used for presentation to provide
information to others. Their work will not be erased since it is saved to their ePortfolio, they will
be able to view their work in future. When a learner is constructing their ePortfolio repetition
were occur during planning and change the portfolio over a period of time.
During the constructing an effective portilio there are important factors to remember such
as you will be collecting, selecting, reflecting, and connecting. All of those important factors will
help students when they are constructing their portfolio for learning. A learning ePortfolio will
consist of a student organizing information they have learned. Their instructor will be able to
view their gained knowledge they have learned in the course when the portfolio is designed and
completed. When students are finished constructing their porfilo they can share their work with
period of time. Instructors can measure students can also create an ePortfolio for assignments
they have completed prior for their instructor to assess their work. When students are
constructing a portfolio for the use of being assessed, they will collect all their completed
assignments. Their instructor will be able to view all of the assignments that have been
completed all at one time. The instructor will be able to grade the students on a variety of
assignments through a certain period of time, rather than one assignment at a time.
