The 10/10/10 Method to ease up

making decisions on almost every

matter of life

Decision is the ultimate power that most of us is not capable off to

use that power efficiently and effectively or may be only one of
them.
The quality of your daily decisions informs the quality of your life
which we are spending day by day. Whether it’s at home or at
work, high-level thinking enables a kind of objectivity when
considering options. It allows you to balance the conflicting forces
in your mind with the incentives of reality.
As a business administrator and life- long learner there’s always a
time when I’ve to took decisions day by day from the last 2.5 years
(and it’s not like I have not taking my decisions before that) but in
that time span a better method is helping me to make the right
decision and to craft it properly as I will.

The 10/10/10’s idea is fairly quite simple. Any time in life I feel a
slight conflict about a decision to take or regarding an action to go
for it or not, I take a moment to ask myself the following three
questions:-
 How will I feel about it in 10 minutes?
 How will I feel about it in 10 months?
 How will I feel about it in 10 years?

A presently good example would be my decision to learn how to

cook (also a better one too) and to further sell it also but as a
restaurateur that I was considering that a few months ago.

But from the past year, I’ve been working quite a bit and have busy
schedules because of adjusting to a new place to continue my
academics. It’s something I’ve enjoyed, and it’s also something I’m
grateful to do, but I’ve made compromises to do so.

Due to my work loads, that priority is continuously slipped quite a

bit, and even when a good opportunity came up a few months ago,
I was hesitant for weeks and I was talking about the just gone
August.

I made all sorts of justifications as to why I should delay the

commitment to get admission in a professional cookery
certification and I kept postponing my decision, even though I
didn’t feel great about it.

Eventually, I asked the 3 questions from inside:

How will I feel 10 minutes after enrolling in
certification? — “I’ll be a little conflicted about my immediate
decision at the end of degree because of extra burden, but slowly, I
know I’ll get excited and will happily manage all the stuff”

How will I feel 10 months after the certification? — “There

is almost no chance that I’ll look back and wish that I had
continued to postpone my plan until now.”

How will I feel 10 years after the certification? — “The extra

mile I ran, I may have done will be completely irrelevant, but I’ll
probably still treasure the skills that I learned.”

I took the certification, and as always, it was one of the best

moments going on.

We are obviously not going to solve each and every problem we are
facing using this method, but you would be surprised at how well
you can diagnose most of them.

With the 10/10/10 method, there is no reason you can’t do the

same. Whether it’s a dream to run your business, managing your
urgencies, or discovering the courage to face a fear and anxiety or
the smallest sticking to a diet, all you have to do is ask yourself
three questions.

If you’ll start making this a habit then from time to time, you’ll
train your brain to automatically examine second and third-order
consequences of different actions. That’s one of the most powerful
mental advantages there is that lies in the fact that “Do use
10/10/10 method…!!!”
