1) The dependent variable is the concern for healthy eating of the
participants. This concern is quantified by the participants themselves on a scale of one (not very important) to nine (very important). 2) The study is experimental rather than correlational because the researchers were able to carefully control the various aspects of the study, such as the independent variable and the participants were randomly divided into two groups for the purpose of comparison. 3) The most appropriate conclusion that the researchers can draw from the study, is that the way the condition of obesity is framed has an impact on one’s concern for healthy eating. If it is framed in a way that calls it a disease, people tend to be less concerned about healthy eating. On the other hand, if it is framed in a way calling it a result of personal behaviours and decisions, people tend to be more concerned about healthy eating.
