The ideas about safeguarding and enhancing one's health, which includes emotional well-

being and related activities, form the cornerstone of keeping good health. Health perceptions, or
people's subjective assessments of their health, are strongly tied to the process of improving
health, which include adopting healthy lifestyle practices.

According to the Theory of Planned Behavior, the factors that directly influence
individuals to adopt healthy behaviors include their attitudes towards these behaviors, their
subjective perceptions of group norms around the behaviors, and their perceptions of personal
control in relation to the behaviors. Adoption of healthy living activities among students is
related to their positive thoughts and beliefs about health improvement in general, as well as their
ability to manage and maintain their health status.

Nursing students will play an essential role in the future healthcare workforce. Health
behavior is critical for nursing students to achieve optimal health. Healthy students are more
likely to complete their studies and stay in the nursing profession. They will also be a role model
for the patients. Health professionals who have health-promoting views and actions might serve
as role models for patients who want to change their health behaviors.

Gaps:

1. Knowledge Disparities: Identify variations in knowledge levels among nursing students,

including disparities in understanding different aspects of a healthy lifestyle, such as nutrition,
physical activity, mental health, and preventive care.

2. Barriers to Healthy Living: Explore the barriers and challenges that nursing students face in
maintaining a healthy lifestyle, such as time constraints, academic demands, financial
limitations, and work-life balance issues.

3. Mental Health Awareness: Examine the awareness and perception of mental health as an
integral component of a healthy lifestyle and identify any stigmas or misconceptions related to
mental well-being.

4. Healthcare Provider Role: Investigate how nursing students perceive their role as healthcare
providers in promoting healthy lifestyles to patients and the community.
5. Awareness of Current Guidelines: Assess the awareness of nursing students regarding
evidence-based guidelines and recommendations related to healthy lifestyles and disease
prevention.

6. Perception of Personal Relevance: Investigate how nursing students perceive the personal
relevance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and the extent to which they believe it impacts their
future nursing practice.

Reason:

This research is significant because it evaluates the baseline understanding and attitudes
of nursing students towards healthy lifestyles. As future healthcare professionals, nursing
students' knowledge and perceptions can directly influence their ability to promote health and
prevent disease in their patients. Identifying areas of knowledge gaps or misconceptions can lead
to targeted interventions in nursing education, which may result in better-prepared and health-
conscious nurses. Ultimately, this research contributes to the overall health and wellness of both
nursing students and the patients they will serve.
