SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL
AMAZING CAMPUS Habib University's state-of-the-art campus is
designed to create an integrated community. The campus encompasses
wide, open spaces featuring several labs, studios, lecture halls,
sports courts, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, an award winning
library, an auditorium and an open air amphitheater- providing intellectual
retreats, an atmosphere that prompts creativity and design, as well as
platforms for students' creativity through musical and theatrical
performances.

LIBERAL ARTS As one of the very first Liberal Arts Universities of

Pakistan, Habib University was inspired by world leading institutions to
provide its students with an exposure to interdisciplinary skills that
complement their chosen disciplines. These skills raise awareness amongst the
students and encourages them to engage in dialogue pertaining to the
situation of the modern world. Through its carefully crafted Liberal Core
based on seven unique "Forms of Thought", students are taught to
critically analyze challenging problems and use the values they
have learnt to come up with viable solutions that benefit the society and, in turn,
the world.

HUPSC Habib University's Public Speaking Club (HUPSC) is one of

the most active and popular student-run club on campus. With the aim to
promote diplomacy and dialogue, HUPSC encourages its members to take
part in various debating competitions held across well-known institutes. It is
with the same aim in mind that HUPSC has successfully conducted two
major events, the Habib University DebateChampionship (HUDC) and the
Habib University Model United Nations (HUMUN) 2017.
PAST EVENTS AT A GLANCE

HUDC
The 2nd Edition of Habib University Debating Championship
(HUDC), organized by the Habib University Public Speaking Club (HUPSC)
was one of the biggest parliamentary debating tournaments held in Karachi.
Conducted over a span of the first three days of January 2018, HUDC
successfully provided its participants with a highly competitive platform that
focused on academic integrity, allowing it to become one of the biggest
British Parliamentary debating tournaments held nationally.

STRING'S CONCERT Habib University hosted the first ever inclusive

concert of Pakistan, where members from the deaf community were invited
and catered to. In collaboration with a local start up, Connect Hear, and the
renowned band Strings, facilities were set up to aid the differently abled
community through interpreters who engaged with the singers and the
crowd. This was a turning point for this community in Pakistan, as even the
singers claimed this to be a way of showing everybody how inclusive events
can become. The event went on to be featured in Mangobaaz and received
so much attention, that it made it to Forbes, a global media company, thus
receiving international acclaim.
 HUMUN’17 One of the most successful events held at Habib
University, HUMUN'17 hosted a range of talented and critically-evolving
students from across
the city who came together to intellectually challenge themselves and
debate on complex issues. With the ethos of diversity and tolerance being
of key importance, HUMUN'17 allowed its participants to engage in a
variety of issues through various different committees. Furthermore,
HUMUN'17 also became the first national MUN to join hands with the
United Nations (UN), delivering on its promises to simulate a real
experience of a UN conference and of prioritizing academic integrity
over all else. Likewise, HUMUN also collaborated with the
prestigious LUMUN and hospitably hosted proficient chairs
from the LUMUN team that, together with skilled chairs from IBA, made the
conference stimulating and engaging for the participants.

COLLABORATION WITH UNITED NATIONS Of the many

values and ideals held by HUPSC and the Habib University, ensuring that
major events being conducted uphold and guarantee academic integrity
has always been the top priority. It was the basis upon which HUMUN'17
was organized and is evident from HUMUN'S collaboration with The United
Nations Information Center (UNIC). This association is proof of HUMUN's
success at simulating a United Nations conference where the participants are
encouraged to critically think, analyze, decipher and solve. It also
legitimizes HUMUN's desires to continue spurring within the individuals
the love for diplomacy, professionalism and dialogue.
