II Today we're reading and doing a little research on the life of a famous African model. Her name is
Waris Dirie . Her name means 'desert flower' (pustinjski cvijet). She has a horrible life story and I'm
not sure if you're all ready to hear it. If you want, you can do a little research about what happend to
her in her childhood.

After a sad childhood, she accidentaly became a super model advertising Revlon products, even
appearing in some films. Nowadays she works for the United Nations and campaigns for women's
rights all over the world. You should find out why.
