Warren Central High School is part of the Warren Township school district and is located
on the Eastside of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Housing
The majority of the houses built in Warren Township are three bedroom units built in the 1960s.
There are 13,785 married couples with children and 8,749 single-parent households in Warren
Township. Of those 8,749 single-parent households, 1,681 are men and 7,068 are women. The
median home price in Warren township is $113,300 and the cost of living is 79.8, which is lower
than the US average at 100.
Workforce
The top three male workforce industries are construction, public administration, and
administrative and support and waste management services. The top three female workforce
industries are health care, finance and insurance, and educational services.
Organizations
There are a wide range of organizations in Warren Township that are there for the community,
some free and some come with a price. Religious centers, parks and community centers,
schools, and business make up the majority of the organizations in Warren Township.
Religious centers. There are fifteen different religious centers located in or near Warren
Township. The majority of the religious centers are a denomination of christianity.

Parks & Community Centers. There are fourteen parks in Warren Township and all are
free to the public and offer a space to be physically active. The township also has the Warren
Township Community Center.
Schools. The Warren School District is a public school district and has one preschool,
nine elementary schools, three intermediate schools, three middle schools, and one high school.
The elementary schools are Grassy Creek which has 448 students, Liberty Park with 497
students, Hawthorne with 404 students, Brookview with 566 students, Eastridge with 450
students, Lowell with 540 students, Lakeside with 560 students, Pleasant Run with 545 students,
and Sunny Heights with 503 students.
The intermediate and middle schools are held in the same buildings. Creston Intermediate
Academy has 590 students and Creston Middle School has 608 Students. Raymond Park
Intermediate School has 665 students and Raymond Park Middle School has 608 students, and
Stonybrook Intermediate Academy has 598 students and Stonybrook Middle School has 617
students.
The high school is Warren Central High School and has 3,677 students enrolled during the
2019-2020 school year.
Businesses. 2 2 different businesses came to the 2019 Warren Central High School
Career Fair. Some of the larger corporations that attended were Andy Mohr Automotive Group,
Belle Tire, BMO Harris Bank, Stoops Freightliner, Teachers Credit Union, Trilogy Health
Services, and Yamaha Marine Precision Propellers Inc.
School Board
The Warren Township School Board last met on February 19, 2020.
Meeting. T he School Board meeting started off with a pledge and then an inspirational
speech from a board member. The superintendent and all of the board members reported over

the last month. Each school reported and then different policies were talked about. Lastly, the
floor was open for discussion and the topic of textbooks prices was brought up.
Demographics
The demographics of Warren Central High School are congruent with many other public schools
in the Indianapolis area.
Students. In the 2019-2020 school year Warren Central High School had 3,677 students
enrolled. Of those students: 54.9% were african american, 20.6% were caucasian, 16.8% were
hispanic, 6.8 % were multiracial, 0.7% were Asian, and 0.1% were native hawainn or pacific
islander. 84.3% of the students were listed as general education and 15.7% of the students were
listed as special education. 93.2% of the students were non-english language learners and 6.8%
were english language learners.
Teachers. I n the 2016-2017 school year Warren Central High School had 209 teachers
on the staff. Of those teachers: 85.2% were caucasian, 12.4% were african american, 1.4% were
hispanic, 0.5% were asian, and 0.5% were american indian. The years of experience between the
teachers also varied. 26.3% of teachers had 6-10 years of experience, 23.9% had 0-5 years,
19.1% had 16-20 years, 18.2% had 11-15 years, and 12.4% had 20 plus years of experience.
Academic Performance
Over the past eight years attendance has decreased from 97.0% attendance in 2010-2011 to
92.5% attendance in 2018-2019. Data obtained from the 2017 graduating class finds that 48% of
students took the SAT. Of those who took the SAT they received an average score of 1,004,
which is slightly lower than the Indiana average at 1,073. 38.9% of the graduating class took the
ACT. Of those who took the ACT they received an average score 19, which is slightly lower
than the Indiana average at 23.
Warren Central High School has a graduation rate of 89.4%, and that is congruent with the state
average at 89.5%. 53.5% of Warren Central High School students are listed as college and
career ready, which is below the state average of 65.7%. Given these facts, the Indiana
Department of Education gave Warren Central a C status on the 2014-2015 Final PL 22, a C on
the Historical Report Card, and a B on the 2017-2018 Report Card.

Curriculum
Warren Central High School offers a Core 40 degree, Core 40 with academic honors degree, and
a Core 40 with technical honors degree. Warren Central offers 15 Advanced Placement courses
and 18 dual credit courses accredited through Ivy Tech and Indiana University.
Extracurricular
There are all kinds of extracurricular activities available for students at Warren Central High
School. Warren Central offers 102 clubs categorized under academic, leadership, performing
arts, fitness, service, and technical/career; 10 boys sports including baseball, basketball, cross
country, football, golf, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, and wrestling; 10 girls
sports including basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming & diving,
tennis, track & field, and volleyball; 1 coed sport being cheer; 2 unified sports of flag football
and track.
Finances
The total expenditure for the school was $37,724,397. 55.5% of that was spent on instructional
expenditures, 21.6% was spent on operational shared expenditures, 12.4% was spent on
operational expenditures, 9.6% was spent on instructional shared expenditures, and 0.9% was
spent on other instructional expenditures. 94.5% of that was raised by state/local funds and the
other 5.5% was raised by federal funds.
Students. The amount that Warren Central spent per student for fiscal year 2019 was
$9,873.
