National Art Center in the Philippines
The Cultural Center of the Philippines ( CCP )
• In the past, cultural events in the regions were
limited inside the regions. But because of the efforts
and support of the Cultural Center of the Philippines
( CCP ) and the National Commission on Culture and
the Arts ( NCCA ), there are now cultural and artistic
centers in the various regions of the country.
The Cultural Center of the
Philippines
• CCP was established in 1969
through the Executive Order
No. 303.
• Its goal was “ to preserve,
develop, and promotes arts
and culture in the Philippines” .
Regarded as the premier showcase of the arts, it
houses several resident companies:
• Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra
• UST Symphony Orchestra
• Tanghalang Pilipino
• BAYANIHANG National Dance Company of
the Philippines
• Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group
• Philippine Madrigal Singers
• Philippine Ballet Theatre
• Ballet Philippines
• National Music Competition for Young Artist
Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra
UST Symphony Orchestra
Tanghalang Pilipino
BAYANIHANG National Dance
Company of the Philippines
Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group
Philippine Madrigal Singers
Philippine Ballet Theatre
Ballet Philippines

Young Artist
It also provides a venue for concerts, theatrical
performances, and art exhibits here and abroad.
It also holds festivals like PASINAYA: CCP’s Open
House Festival, the Largest multi-artist festival for
the Filipino Public.
In 2010, CCP embarked on an out
reach program
called UGNAYAN SA SINING,
-- A program that promotes regi
onal arts through cultural interac
tions and exchange tours of
accomplished artists and art grou
ps in the regions.
It started with Four groups:
• Sining Bulakeño
( SIBUL ) from Malolos, Bulacan
• St. Louis University from Baguio City
• CPU Handbell Choir from Iloilo City
• Tagum City Comprehensive National
High School Rondalla from
Davao del Norte.

Davao del Norte.
These groups hosted other groups in their
respective localities.

SIBUL hosted St. Louis University and vice


versa. The same went with CPU handbell
Choir and Tagum City Rondalla.
Later, the Youth Advocatesfor Theatre Arts of
Dumanguete ( YATTA ) and Mindanao State
University in General Santos City exchanged
cultural visits.
CCP launched Kaisa sa Sining:
The Regional Arts Centers in 2014,
expanding public participation in the
arts.
It goals was “ to further strengthen its
linkages and cooperation with local or
ganization in the regions. “

The CCP also incharge of the
National Art Center in
Mt. Makiling, Los Baños, Laguna, which is the
home of the Philippine High School for Arts.
