- Be going to (verb to be + going to + verb):

• Plans and intentions;
• Predictions (based on what we know; facts).

Present Continuous for Future

- Present Continuous (Verb to be + Verb + Ing):

• Actions happening at the moment of speaking;
• Temporary situations;
• Near future - arrangements (today, tonight, this week, next week,
tomorrow, etc).
• Show conviction (I’m really doing it).

Affirmative Negative Interrogative

Are they working today?
They are working today. They aren’t working
Yes, they are.

No, they aren’t.

Present continuous – I’m playing the piano now.

Simple future – I promise I’ll think about it.
Be going to – I’m going to buy a new car next week.
