WHY CHOOSE A PUBLIC SCHOOL

In private schools, they use a public school as one of the threats for those who are failing
a subject. For example, a big amount of students fail Mathematics. This teacher would belittle
the low education Filipinos attest by using the quality of a public school. The reason why it is
hard for me to face the reality of going to a public school is because of their threat. I'll admit I'm
one of those people. But every end of the quarter I do my best to pass them. Such as luck came
to pass, I wasn't able to finish my studies in a private school. As I stepped my foot in a public
school; I felt nothing but being anxious and excited surprizingly. I came to a saying that never
underestimate things until you've experienced it. Here are things that made me choose to be in a
public school.
First, it is run by the government. Any laws that implements and mandated in the
Philippines are worthy of service-oriented to its citizens. Since the government would fun and
stabilize the school; I chose to be in a public school for my educational files are now in safe with
the government directly. I believe that it gave me opportunities to help me grow and accept the
different factors and sectors in our society today. Second, it gave me justice. What do I mean by
justice? Justice in being in two types of schools gave me the right to know the wisdom behind
my experiences in my schools. People would say this school is this and this school is that. I
myself would be given the right logical validation of reasoning rather than the people who never
experienced but kept belittling it. This is one of the saddest Filipino reality. Comparing things is
not good. It will never be good since equity is absent in both parties. Third, it motivated me to do
better. This does not mean that I'm taking a public school as a bad consequence for granted. It
gave me a preliminary state of completing my studies in a different way. Because of this "way", I
believe that whatever I pursue it will just be something to me. Fourth, it gets you along with a
different side and view of people. Meeting new people with different culture is a complex kind of
socialization. But when times go by, it will not take you as if it is a challenge. It gave me an
advantage to meet people whether the status is different from another.
Being in a public school is not that bad. It is living in a new environment with knowing
what others say and not what you've experienced. I'll admit. I became more revealing and happy
than ever being in a public school. Even though the lessons are different from a private school;
the pride of the public school is from how people unite whether girl, boy, gay, lesbian, and so on
that will let them cherish every moment of their lives. The positivity of the Filipinos are much in
demands of our culture simply because it is our way of being one family.
