Geoffery chaucer

-He is known as the father of English literature, is widely

considered the greatest English poet of the Middle Ages.
-He born on London (1340) and died (octobor 1400)
-His project was to create a literature and poetic language for
all classes of society,and he succeeded at that.
-Today chaucer still stands as one of the great shaper of literary
narrative and character.

The Centerbury Tales

The Canterbury Tales is a collection of 24 stories that run to
over 17,000 lines its about a chaucer,s famous tales ..meet our
costumed guides walk alongside Chaucer pilgrems.
In spring time people of varying social classes come from all
over England to gather at the Tabard Inn in preparation for a
pilgrimage to Canterbury to receive the blessing off St. thomas.
Chaucer himself is one of the piligrims.The Host suggests that
each member of the group tell atale on the way to and from
Canterbury in order to make the time pass more pleasantly.
Chaucer was able to observe both the highest and the lowest
classes of the society
A student at oxford , apoor thin man,the most admire person in
the group he knows the astronomy but nothing of the Bible ,he
made a lot of money ,he loves gold .He is an able lawyer he live
the perfect life and teach it.
The wife of bath: she is lively woman who has been married five
times and makes many humorous remark about sex . She is
awoman of two faces ,she introduced in the General
Prologue ,but she is a raving bigot because her tale is full of anti
–Semitic attitudes .it is what her tale say about her. She is
shallow,unworldly,and the childish of charactar and this what
chaucer wants the readerto understand about her .
