POINTS OF DISCUSSION

1. Discuss the moral duty of the government.


We commonly attribute to states and other institutional organization moral duties
and obligations. Ethics and morality from a central position in the functioning of the
government. Under normal circumstances it is the role of the government to ensure a
just society where order and harmony exist. As a result the government has to
establish and enforce ethical and moral standard so as to ensure that the society
functions well. Therefore it must make ethical and moral consideration in order to
make decisions that are in line with the welfare of the society. The state has moral
duty to protect its citizens for external threats and it is claimed that it ought to
positively promote the welfare of its member.

2. Distinguish democracy from communism.


Democracy is a type of government which everything is decided by citizens, who
all have an equal say I decision that impact people in general. The majority wins and
everything will be decided and ruled by a majority vote.
Communism to each according to their needs. The government will provide what
people need and through advances in technology everyone will have an abundance
to consume.
Communism does not allow for individuals to own everything, all property is
public and can be used by those who need while democracy is individual can own
personal property like homes and businesses.

3. Discuss the morality of internationalism.


Morality of internationalism focus on how should the government govern the
people in order to have a better welfare of the society. Nations must be brought into
a moral atmosphere; they must act only in such ways as to make for the common
welfare of the society.
