This chapter presents the data gathered, analyzed and interpreted. It deals with the
perception of Coron School of Fisheries Senior High School students in the issue of same sex
marriage. It includes the students’ profile such as age, gender and religion.

The table above shows the sex of the respondents which is female and male. The female
respondents have a frequency of 50 out of 100 which is 50 percent and the male respondents
have a frequency of 50 out of 100 which is also 50 percent of the population. It implies that
there are equal number of respondents between male and female who shared their perception in

The table above shows the students’ age that is clustered into nine, ranging from 15, 16,
17,18,19,20,22,23,24, and 25 ages. The respondents who belongs to the age of 15 has a
frequency of 2 out of 100 which is equivalent to 2 percent. The respondents who belongs to the
age of 16 has a frequency of 19 out of 100 which is equivalent to 19 percent. The respondents
who belongs to the age of 17 has a frequency of 35 out of 100 which is equivalent to 35 percent.
The respondents who belongs to the age of 18 has a frequency of 30 out of 100 which is
equivalent to 30 percent. The respondents who belongs to the age of 19 has a frequency of 6 out
of 100 which is equivalent to 6 percent. The respondents who belongs to the age of 20 has a
frequency of 4 out of 100 which is equivalent to 4 percent. The respondents who belongs to the
age of 22 has a frequency of 2 out of 100 which is equivalent to 2 percent. The respondents who
belongs to the age of 23 has a frequency of 1 out of 100 which is equivalent to 1 percent. And the
respondents who belongs to the age of 25 has a frequency of 1 out of 100 which is equivalent to
It implies that most of our respondents at the age of 17 who shared their perception in the
issue of same sex marriage and less are those in the aged of 23 and 25.

The table above shows the religion of the respondents, Catholic, Baptist, Islam, Iglesia ni
Cristo, Dating Daan, Adventist, Born Again,Others. The respondents who belong to the catholic
religion has the frequency of 23 out of 100 which is equivalent to 23 percent. The respondents
who belong to the Baptist religion has the frequency of 22 out of 100 which is equivalent to 22
percent. The respondents who belong to the Baptist religion has the frequency of 22 out of 100
which is equivalent to 22 percent. The respondents who belong to the Islam religion has the
frequency of 4 out of 100 which is equivalent to 4 percent. The respondents who belong to the
Iglesia ni Cristo religion has the frequency of 16 out of 100 which is equivalent to 16 percent.
The respondents who belong to the Dating Daan religion has the frequency of 2 out of 100 which
is equivalent to 2 percent. The respondents who belong to the Adventist religion has the
frequency of 6 out of 100 which is equivalent to 6 percent. The respondents who belong to the
Born Again religion has the frequency of 20 out of 100 which is equivalent to 20 percent. And
the respondents who belong to the other religion has the frequency of 7 out of 100 which is
equivalent to 7 percent.
It indicates most of our respondents are Catholic type of religion and less are those in the
The table above shows the perception of senior high school students in the issue of same
sex marriage in terms of different category consolidated from the evaluation sheet that can be
seen in the first column of the table which is the statement. It revealed that all the given
statement above interpreted as no. As you can see the 7 th statement gained the highest mean of
2.48 and interpreted as no which means that our respondents’ having a perception that there is no
difference between a normal couple and same sex couple. While the 6th statement gained the
lowest mean of 1.6 and interpreted as no which means that our respondents are having a
perception in the issue of same sex marriage that there is no good bring benefits in our country.
The table 3 above shows the profile of the respondents, P-value, and the interpretation of
data. The gender of the respondents has the p-value of 0.920785 which means that there is no
significant relationship between there sex and their perception in the issue of same sex marriage.
The age of the respondents has the p-value of 0.867394 which means that there is no significant
relationship also between there age and their perception in the issue of same sex marriage. And
last profile of the respondents is the religion that has the p-value of 0.312018 which means that
there is a significant relationship between their religion and their perception in the issue of same
sex marriage.
It implies among the three profile of the respondents that we don’t have accept decision
