GEC 008 – Ethics

Everybody today has their own convictions, ethics, and moral

standards that they live by. Consistently, we have found out about
what is moral and immoral. This subject deals with principles of
ethical behavior in modern society at the level of the person, society
and an interaction with environment and other shared resources.
Morality pertains to the standard of right and wrong that an individual
originally picks up from the community. The course discusses the
context of and principles of ethical behavior in modern society at the
level of individual, society and in the interaction with the environment
and other shared resources. I believe that ethics are very culturally
based. In other words, one cultures ethics might not seem ethically
right to another person from a different culture.
The course tackles different topics but there’s one topic that I
can probably relate to it. Which is the “Love of God”. For me, I have a
belief in God. My family is all Christians and I have been raised to live
my life a certain way, and do things a certain way. I feel that though
my ethics, and morals may be different from others, I have lived my
life in a respectable way. I would state that my life is very impacted by
God's promise. This topic will give us the knowledge what was the
real purpose of God for having as here in this temporary world. Which
said to be that we should be his followers to the good deed he left
and teach to us.
My parents have always educated me to love everyone and be
kind and benevolent to each person I meet. Also, they taught me to
never judge a book by its cover and give each person I encounter an
equal chance. This lesson give me some realization life. As a
creature of God we should always know the things that are good for
the other not for our own wake. Also that God will always there to
guide us on every decision were made in life in order to lead us to the
right path and not bring us to life that we can regret at the end of the
day.
