Civil engineering is a branch of engineering course, a professional discipline dealing with

designing, constructing as well as maintenance of the physical and the naturally built
environment. Civil engineering is not an easy course. Especially for me that I took none STEM
strand during my SHS. Probably means that my course is not aligned to strand that I finished in
SHS. But I push to take civil engineering towards the difficulties that I may encounter. My
course requires a lot of hard works and dedication. TIP is one of the famous school when it
comes to engineering courses. It holds some of the bigger accreditation in engineering industry.
So that the standard of engineering course in TIP is very advanced compare to other engineering
school. Our curriculum now is different form the other curriculum of the higher years. Our
curriculum now is more on engaging to the materials and skill that we need to overcome as a
civil engineering students. Like for example for the subject of Surveying 1 we are already teach
on how to measure the specific lot using surveying materials. This will help us to familiarize as
early how surveying conduct on the field as we already practice here. Another is for the subject
of building system, we learn on how to make a sample house plan using modern technology.
This skills that we learn and get form our course will be very helpful as time we get graduate and
apply those skill in real word outside the schools. Our course help to demonstrate those skills
that we need to learn in order to succeed to our chosen fields. Also it prepare us to become
professional after we finished our course. Our target accomplishment for this course is we can
plan, manage apply the skills as we handle a project someday. TIP is one of the best school that
can provide skills such as critical thinking skills, communication skills etc. As time goes by at
the end of our journey here in TIP and achieves all of that skills we can proudly said that we are
ready for the real battle of life which is working out on our different fields of specialization. So
that how Civil Engineering course helps and change our life into brighter and purposeful.
