1. Why does Putin try to invade Ukraine?

According to the Western officials the reason why Russian President Putin tried to invade Ukraine it
is because Russia wants to overthrow Ukraine’s government and replace it with a compliant regime,
reviving Moscow’s Cold War-era influence.

Also, Russian President Putin announced his goal was to protect people subjected to bullying and
genocide and aim for the "demilitarisation and de-Nazification" of Ukraine. However, some of the
articles that I have read it contradicts. In fact, Ukraine is a democratic country led by Jewish president
and there has been no genocide in there.

2. Is it justified?

Yes it is. In the lead-up to attacks on Ukraine, Russian President Putin have told the world that his
operation aims to “denazify” Ukraine, a country led by a Jewish president. The Holocaust, World War II
and Nazism are the important tools for Putin in his bid to legitimize Russia’s moves in Ukraine, but
historians see their use as disinformation and a cynical ploy to further the Russian leader’s aims. World
War II, in which the Soviet Union lost an estimated 27 million people, is a linchpin of Russia’s national
identity. In today's Russia, officials bristle at any questioning of the USSR’s role.

Some historians say this has been coupled with an attempt by Russia at retooling certain historical
truths from the war. They say Russia has tried to magnify the Soviet role in defeating the Nazis while
playing down any collaboration by Soviet citizens in the persecution of Jews. Lastly, Ukrainian President
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is Jewish that hasn't stopped Russian officials from comparing Zelenskyy to Jews
who were forced to collaborate with the Nazis during the Holocaust.

3. How does IR enter to resolve the conflict?

Honestly, the conflict is not yet resolved. According to the news the Peace talks still conducting by the
two involved countries which are the Ukraine and Russia. Many nations are campaigning to stop the war
initiated by Russia and many of them express their sympathy to Ukraine as it caught up in the situation.
Most of the Ukraine’s neighbor countries offered them to evacuate on their countries and give them
essential materials. From there we can see the act of kindness is still prevailing. Lastly, the united nation
and other international organization advised these two countries to end the war and have a peaceful
agreement.

4. What are your recommendations to address the issue?

Here are some of my recommendations to stop the war in general.

Every country in the world should tolerate and nurture the value of peace talks to end up in
clear and better decisions about the conflict. Instead of initiating war that might lost hundreds,
thousands or even million of lives because of not having an agreement, why not focusing every
government’s attention in helping others to up-lift and for huge development of every country? Hence,
as a citizen we should stand still and demand that our government should uphold the Constitution, cut
off funding for war and find a way to peace. We, the citizen of the world must demand that each of the
nation state’s government should not give away or allow the leaders to usurp its sole authority under
the Constitution to make the decision to go to war. Citizens should also demand that government
exercise its power of the purse to prevent war, including not giving financial support to the leader
attempting to bribe other countries to participate in an illegal war. It is the responsibility of citizens in a
democracy to exercise control over their leaders who threaten to commit crimes under international
law, and impeachment provides an important tool to achieve this control. Lastly, all leaders who commit
egregious crimes must be held to account under international law, and they must be aware of this from
the outset.
