State of the Union Address

President Donald Trump

Tuesday night was an epic night at the state of the union address, from dissing handshakes to ripping up
speeches the night came with power. President Donald Trump just gave his state of the union address this
week leaving Americans with mixed reviews about his last four years of being President.

In the state of the union address speech given by America’s current President Donald Trump, he covered
many important topics, such as economics and jobs; healthcare; foreign affairs; polices, immigration and
the best part of the night were the special guests honored. The rooms was filled with high emotions with
democrats and republicans feuding. If you watched this event on TV you could see the many different
facial expressions from one side of the room to the other.

The president started off the night bragging about all his accomplishments, in reference to America’s
economics. He stated that unemployment is at an all-time low, more young African Americans are
employed, fewer people are on welfare and the stock market is at an all-time high. And after every three
words, the president said there were long applauses. The president also addresses health care and how
health care cost has decreased by 60% more than the previous administration. He also announced that
people with pre-existing conditions will never be denied health care. Also, America will be private
insurance. The president announced that there will be a new branch in our American military called Space
force.

The president also talked about controversial topics such as no abortion, which the crowd gave boos and
applauses to. He talked about the tax cut for the rich in hopes the rich will pour my income and jobs in the
low-income areas. He promised to have special funding for all HBCU’s and to plant more trees to help
with pollution and global warming. He also announced that the prison reform bill has been passed.

The most unpopular topic he discussed was his new policies on immigration and how to handle illegal
people in America. The president, of course, discussed the wall he is building around the border. He also
announced that illegal immigrants will not access health care in America and the catch and release
method states have been preforming will be no more.

The most touching part of the night was when the President honored the many worthy people, one of them
being the only Tuskegee airmen alive and he had just celebrated his 100th birthday. Another gentleman
being a veteran drug addict and how he changed his life and is a very successful person. Another 8 years
old named Ganyia being taken off the waiting list for school and a scholarship to college.
