Objectives:
Ss will be able to:
★ acquire, handle and employ the new vocabulary related to the topic
★ agree or disagree according to the ideas proposed in the unit
★ use passive voice
★ create a for and against debate related to the pros and cons of using an invention
given by the teacher
Final Task:
★ SS will be divided in 4 groups. T will make the groups.
★ SS will be given what is considered as a bad invention from History. (Fast food,
Internet, Television, Mobile phones, Rockets, Alcoholic beverage, Coke, Cigarettes
and weapons (guns, gunpowder or the Atomic bomb)) SS will be able to choose one
from this list or any other.
★ T will give each group a card with the indications that they will have to follow.
★ SS will have to look for information about that invention (using Sarmiento computers).
When and where it was created. Who created it. What it was/is used for. They will
also have to think about the pros and cons of using it.
★ SS will be creating posters with all these information. Posters will only mention the
pros of using it.
OPENING: 5’ OK. You know this is my last week with you. I will miss you!. Before
starting our final project, I want to thank you for participating in everything I brought
to these classes.
FINAL TASK:
Let's start working, I will be giving you the instructions, so please pay attention. T will
be writing on the board the step for SS to follow.
1st part: INTRODUCTION:15’
● SS will:
be divided in groups,
● get a Sarmiento computer,
● be assigned an invention
● get a card with the instructions (phrases T will give SS for them to include
them in the poster)

2 part: Final task:40’ Creating the poster
● have to look for information and create a poster following the instructions that
the teacher will give them: 40’ take the necessary materials with
you...markers, etc etc

3 part: Getting ready for the debate
● have to think about questions that they will be asking to the other groups on
Friday:15’
While Ss work on the 2 and 3 part the T will be checking the different groups,
assessing them, checking if they are following the instructions properly. T will give
them the poster and markers for them to copy the information they will gather.
I was talking to Roxana on Friday and she suggested preparing some exercises
because SS may finish this part in two periods. So I will prepare a game for revising
everything we have dealt with so far and then I will be giving them some practice.
