2. What are the categories and description of the OTHER HEALTH FACILITIES?
Category A. Primary care facility
a first contact health care facility that offers basic services including emergency
services and provision for normal deliveries.

Category B. Custodial Care Facility


a health facility that provides long term care, including basic services like food
and shelter, to patients with chornic conditions requiring ongoing health and
nurisng care due to impairment and a reduced degree of independence in activities
of daily living and patients in need of rehabilitiation.

Category C. Diagnostic/Therapeutic Facility


a facility for the examination of the human body, specimens from the human body for
the diagnosis, sometimes treatment of disease, or water for drinking water
analysis.

Category D. Specialized Outpatient Facility


a facility that performs highly specialized procedures on an outpatient basis.

3. What is Rural Health Unit?


is a primary level health facilityin the municipality. The focus of RHU is
preventive and promotive health services and the suspension of BHSs under its
jurisdiction (DOH, 2001)

4. Who are the personnel that manage the rural health units , specify their roles
and functions?

MUNICIPAL HEALTH OFFICER (MHO) or Rural Health Physicians heads the health services
at the municipal levels and carries out the ff. roles and fuctions
1. Administration of the RHU
a. Prepares the municipal health plan and budget
b. Monitors implementation of basic health services
c. Management of RHU staff.

2. Community Physician
a. Conducts epidemiological studies
b. Formulates health education campaigns on disease prevention
c. Prepares and implements control measures or rehabilitaion plans

THE PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE


1. Supervises and guides all RHMs in the municipality
2. Prepares the FHSIS quarterly and annual reports of the municipality for
submission to the Provincial Health Office
3. Utilizes nursing process and responsing to thealth care needs.
4. Collaborates with other members of the health team, government agencies, private
business, NGOs and peoples organixation to adress the community's health problems.

5. Considering the RA 7305, what is the ratio of specific RHU personnel vis a vis
with the population? identify them accordingly
There be one RHU pyhsician to a population of 20,000
RA 7305 provide for the same population ratio of RHU physician that is 1:20,000
and there be one RHM for every 5,000 population

it broughts the desicion making and accountability on basic government services
closer to the people.
RA7160 was enacted to bring about genuine and meaningful local autonomy

1. Proposing to the sanggunian annual budgetary allocations for the operation and
maintenance of health facilities and servises within the province/city/municipality
2. Serving as an advisory committee to the Sanggunian on hea;th matters
3. Crwating committees that shall advise local health agencies on various matters
related to health servises operations.

8. Who are the members/composition of the health board in municipal level, how
about in provincial level.?
a. Provincial Governor/Mayor

c. Members of the Board: Chairman on committee of health of the sanggunian, NGO
involved in the health service an rerepresentative of DOH.

9. How do you define referral? Differentiate the classification of referral?


A referral is a sst of activities undertaken by a healthcare provider or facility
in response to its inability to provide necessary health intervention to satisfy
patients need.
CLASSIFICATION
Internal Referrals- occur within the health facility, from one health personnel to
another.
External Referral- is a movement of a patient to one facility to another.
