Activities:
● Kindreds Dance Group - (2 years) I was a member of this dance group from freshman
year up until sophomore year. With Kindreds, I have met many new people and friends,
learned different types of choreography with practices holding up to 8 hours, performed
for the community, and participated in spring/summer competitions. Notably, I was a
member of the Large Team, Medium All Female Team, and COED Dance Team. I
learned how to communicate and branch out with not only different types of people but
also different styles of dancing with my body. I learned perseverance and a great
multitude of patience with my team undergoing strenuous exercises and running.

● Share the Love Club - (Fall 2018 and currently Fall 2019) - STL Club is a group of
students dedicated to helping the homeless in Los Angeles whenever we get the chance. I
have worked with other students to contribute to this club. I am an Event Coordinator
who searches for volunteer opportunities nearby and I try to look for fundraisers so other
members of the club can

● Junior Council - (Fall 2018 and Spring 2019) - Junior Council is made up of students
from AMA, AEE, and CHS. It is a school organization to help assist in planning prom
and other events/activities for the year 2020. I was the treasurer representative of CHS. I
kept track of the in-and-outs of money whether it was through fundraisers or planning
with the secretary on separate events.

● CHS Leadership - (Fall 2019 and Spring 2020) - I joined leadership in hopes to raise
school spirit and to make the most of senior year for my peers and I. I hold the position as
the historian where I am in charge of keeping documents, photos, etc. into a scrapbook
for memorabilia and our records. I am the chair for the scrapbooking committee and a
member of the committee of publicity. I will help out on preparing for the school’s
monthly pep rallies as well and provide input in planning for the homecoming game and
dance and for events like the blood drive and teacher’s appreciation.

● Peer Counseling - (Fall 2019 and Spring 2020) - I am a peer counselor for Carson High
School. I was 1 of the 35 selected out of a pool of 50 applicants and managed to pass
through a meticulous application process with 2 rounds of selective interviews, letters of
recommendation, and displays of excellent academic commitment. I participated in
attending summer training where we learned about the application process for UC/CSU
eligibility. I am a trusted advisor for my fellow peers and provide them with guidance
when needed. Some of my responsibilities include being ready to answer college-ready
questions, tracking my peers on their pathway to graduating and enrolling in college,
delivering summons, helping with applications, and assisting our head peer advisor.

● In Summer 2018, I worked at Carson Park as a Summer Youth Worker with a total of
105 hours. At Carson Park, I learned to handle new responsibilities in an unfamiliar
environment. I mopped an entire gym in my first week, spoke out to kids, and spoke to
stubborn individuals who refused to follow the park rules. Some days I worked with kids
at the Summer Day Camp, while other days I did maintenance work, managed and sold
food at the snack bar during games, completed daily inspections of the park,
filed/organized papers, and communicated with new strangers. I also helped plan out and
set up events like the yearly luau and baseball games. My earnings went towards a
savings account for college.

● In Summer 2019, I applied to become an intern at a worksite through EXP and interned at
Watson Land Company, a real estate industrial company. There, I had my own cubicle
and worked for 6 weeks under the Asset Management team. I learned how to use
computer programs like Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook. Not only did I learn basic
functions like shredding and copying, but I also became an expert in filing building
documents for properties they managed and made new binders/folders for missing ones.
On top of that, I worked for reception during my first week, enhancing my
communication skills as I welcomed colleagues both from the center and other worksites.
I also presented a PowerPoint and board to my colleagues about my summer experience
and intel I have gathered with them. Most of my earnings proceeded to go into a savings
account for college as well.

● In the Carson Senior High Yearbook team, I am currently working as staff and both a
writer and copy editor throughout 200 pages. I also sell yearbooks during lunch.
Yearbook is offered throughout the whole year and requires students to be able to
multitask and express their creative ideas in representing the school to the best of their
ability. I make flyers for announcements, look over the finished pages before they are
ready to be finalized, and go out of my way to help the chief editor and teacher in
creating the yearbook to the best of our ability. In doing so, I am also faced with the
challenge of completing these tasks while completing my Senior Portfolio to present at
the end of the year. I learned better time management between my yearbook, academic,
and personal tasks. I had to speak to many staff/coaches and interviewed many students
on information for their team and clubs on my personal time, most afterschool.
Dedication and commitment are important qualities to be able to finish the year strong.

to feed the homeless (December 2018 with 4 hours total, November-December 2019 with

● Go Green Club (1-2 hours every other week since 2018) - The Go Green Club is a
school club that serves to not only help our school’s garden, but other places like the
cities, beaches, and marshes. Here, I work with other members to water, remove weeds,
plant seeds, etc. to maintain sustainable practices amongst the environment. I have been a
member since junior year (11th grade) and participated in garden cleanups every other
week for an hour each!

● St. Philomena Church - St. Philomena is a church located in Carson that serves to
spread the love and strength of Christ to others. I had the opportunity to become a
