Nowadays in this modern century that we are live in, media technologies are

everywhere around us, people of all ages are using the media technologies especially

for those young generations has use them the most. Therefore, technology is not going

away and stopping from technology is practically impossible. As a results, media

psychology is using the science of mental and behavior processes to study people at

all ages, in order to find out the benefit and disadvantage or somewhere in between

because of the usage of media technologies [ CITATION Ree91 \l 1033 ].

The psychology is the process and key to interpretation the implications of media

technology. Both psychology and media have created larger contributions to Western

and Eastern culture since the twenty century[ CITATION Ree99 \l 1033 ]. There are three

terms that stressed on the basis of psychology which is science, mental and behavior

processes [ CITATION Har94 \l 1033 ]. Since then psychologists has used the systematic

ways of science to collected data through observations, measurements and

experiments carefully from the people who are in controlled environments. Apart

from it, in the term of mental is a processes which can be easily perceived and

observed through a person’s though, introspections, motives, emotions and feelings.

Meanwhile, behaviour is a person’s apparent actions or observable conducts

themselves towards other [ CITATION Ree99 \l 1033 ].

Media psychology is a complete and undivided system which it is a continual loop

with no beginning and ending by involving the media technology, perceptions and

producer of content and the response from the users [ CITATION Bec87 \l 1033 ]. Hence,

the media psychologists was set a goal trying their best to understand and retort
questions that related to cognition, behaviour and emotions of an human with parallel

understanding of how media technologies is[ CITATION Bec87 \l 1033 ]. Thus, media

psychology studies the whole system without just involved with the content.

Media technologies are redefining how people communicate, work and the way we

lives and these technologies proliferating so fast as just blink of eye, the prosperous of

media technologies are forcing us to change how the way we see the world that we

have been live in. Irrespective of all the care about the negative impact could cause by

the technology to the society, media psychology with the help of psychology to

studies and understand the interaction between human and technology and also seeks

to comprehend the mutual effect among demographic or geographic groups,

individuals, society and technology.

Media psychology simply helping our human on better understanding of connotation

of the change of technology by formally establish the gap. The impact of the media

was hypothesized, quantified and operationalized by the researchers, yet, it is still

complicated of how hard it could be to realistically estimate things predilection that

are so synthetic and general in the everyday life. In order to sort out farrago variables

in our complicated societies, it is almost impossible or extraordinarily subtle to do so.

On this present day, we are defining as media consumers, distributors, producers and
