Weekly Summary of Duty

Week 1, November 27-December 4 2018.

It was November 27,when I started working in Potrero Elementary School as an Student


teacher.Before I was introduced at grade 4 department, the head teacher oriented me about the
School rules and regulations. She also introduced me to those teachers who are there that day.

To start with my work,Ms Dumaging Assigned me in Grade 4 Mahogany.I was Excited because it is
the first time to handle different kind of students.

Week 2,December 5-11 2018

This week I concentrated to get the list of student who cannot read fast then the head teacher told
me that those student who cannot read is need to teach how to read some words and vowel. At this
week it was difficult because in this generation some student who cannot read is not listening to
what i said and what I teach.

Week 3, January 7-11 2018

This is the regular day for me.Just like what im doing the other fast few days. Im doing some paper
works and teach some students.As daily routine I see the improvement of some student who can
read some word at the book. And I was very happy because I am the one who help them to read at
the same time I told them to do not be afraid to ask some unfamiliar words.

Week 4,January 14-22 2018

It was the last weeek of my immersion and My head teacher who observed me are give me some
advice she told me that what I learned at their school it may possible that apply when I have a real
job. Have more patience and be associated to my environment.
COMPANY PROFILE
Potrero Elementary School is a complete public elementary school and is one of the five (5) schools in the District of
Malabon IV, Division of Malabon City. It is strategically located along McArthur Highway corner Pinagtipunan Circle,
Potrero, Malabon City. Situated on a 4,401 sq.m. lot. It houses five (5) academic building structures, an open space for
pupils’ assembly, ample number of trees and some spaces for gardening.

The instructional and supervisory services are rendered by seventy-four (74) classroom teachers, a principal III
and five (5) non-teaching personnel.

The school started as primary school in the 50’s in three venues at POACO Annex, Chico Annex and at Araneta
Whitehouse Annex. Each annex then was supervised by a teacher-in-charge as a primary school with Mrs. Victoria Rivera as
the recognized school head. It was in 1964, during the time of Mr. Benito Mendoza that a complete elementary school was
established in its present cite phasing-out the three annexes.

The wooden elevated building was replaced by a 2-storey, 18 room building known as the Rodriguez Building in
1964. Vicencio Building was constructed then in 1997. A new Kinder Building was built in the early year of 2012 followed
by the DepEd Building in October.

Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as
lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those
objectives to students.

As a student teacher I help my Head teacher/Supervisor to teach students who


cannot read and check their paper works.
PERSONAL OBSERVATION

My personal observation at this school is the students are different in our generation
because When I was grade 4, I can read a book but in their situation even if vowels
they cannot read and difficult to understand what I said and surprised me that how
they become grade when they cannot read.but this immersion can give me
opportunity to handle my fear at the same time is to know the student temperament
and to learned about teaching.
