2. With an adjective
S + to be + adjective

◍ All of you are beautiful


◍ This food is very tasty
◍ I am happy
◍ The children were good
3. With an adverb
S + to be + adverb

◍ She was at the park.


◍ The dinner is at 7 pm.
◍ I am from Malang, East Java.
◍ They are at campus.
4. With the -ing form to
make the continuous
aspect
S + to be + V-ing

◍ You are studying English.


◍ The rabbit is eating a carrot.
◍ They were singing a song.
◍ Everything was wet. It had been raining for hours.
5. With the -ed form to
make the passive voice
S + to be + V3 (Past Participle)

◍ The house was built in 1980.


◍ The street in front of campus is called G. Obos Street.
◍ This car was made in Japan.
◍ The students’ questions are always answered by the teacher.
