“Sneaky Marketing”
❏ Make people feel like an “insider” to your launch. Post nonpromotional updates about
the creation of your book 1 month before launch all the way up until your launch.
❏ Post top 23 covers to FB or other social media platforms to get people to vote on their
favorite
Pre-Launch
❏ Create a Launch Team
❏ Create PreRelease Landing Page
❏ Drive people to PreRelease Landing Page via social media
❏ Get Audiobook Created (optional)
❏ Use as a lead capture in your book (converts 6070% of book buyers)
❏ Put “Includes Free Audiobook” on the cover (optional)
❏ Reach out to press, bloggers or podcasters (Optional)
● Interviews/guest posts should be submitted 24 weeks before you want them to go
live; sometimes sooner depending on the site
❏ Send book to influencers for reviews
● Tag a chapter for them to read that they might find interesting. They probably won’t
have time to read the whole book on short notice.)
❏ Write emails to be sent out to the “prerelease” list on launch week
❏ Pick 2 DIFFERENT categories and crosscategorize your book
● As a general rule:
● If any of the top 3 books are ranked 2,000 or worse; good category
● If all of the top 3 books are inside the top 1,000; competitive category
● Cross categorizing increases organic reach Top 3 books get 60%+ of
purchases. Top 10 books get the other 30%. All other books fight for the scraps.
❏ Join FB groups at least 1 week before your book launch
❏ Submit your book to freebie book sites 12 weeks before your free promo starts
❏ Create Goodreads Account
❏ Create & Run FB ads (optional)
● Works best when advertising during your free launch period
● Target ads at groups you’re a part of & your target audience
Launch Week
❏ Follow our launch strategy
● FREE promo for 5 days ending on Thurs at the latest
● Keep the book at $0.99 for a week before slowly bumping up to the normal price
● In the beginning of the week focus on downloading the book & sharing it on
FB/social media
● Later in the week, focus more on reviewing the book
❏ Raise the price of your book 24 hours before your FREE promo starts (Raise the price to
increase the perceived value)
❏ Change your book price to $0.99 the morning your free promo ends (at least 56 hours
before you plan to manually stop your promo)
❏ MANUALLY stop your free promo at 3pm PT/6pm EST (On Day 5 or the day you after hit
#1 in both categories and make the top 100 in the free store
❏ Post to Freebie FB groups (Post to all FB groups the day of launch & again throughout
launch week)
❏ Send out 12 emails to your “PreRelease List” every day during launch week
❏ Make a huge review push by personally reaching out to everyone who received your
book ahead of time
❏ Post to social media daily (at least) in a creative way, thanking people for their support &
keeping them posted on the progress of the book
❏ Have all guest blog posts or interviews come out this week if possible (Optional)
❏ Personally thank everyone who shares, reviews, buys, or supports your book in ANY
way. (Personal 30sec videos work great!)
❏ Share your book with the community for support & reviews
❏ Ask early reviewers to also leave their review on Goodreads
