There are many type of clues in treasure hunt questions, and more are being devised
every day. Just to give you an idea, here are a few of the more common ones.
TRANSLATION - Sometimes the word “local”, “common” is added to show it’s in Bahasa
Malaysia, but not always!
Question - “LOOK OUT FOR THE LOCAL BAT”
Answer - “KAMPUNG KLUANG” because “KLUANG”is “BAT”.
ANAGRAM - The letters are scrambled. Clues to look out for; crazy, mixed, fooling
around, lost, confused, upset, kacau, gila, sesat, etc.
Question - “CRAZY CONTAINER FOR TEETOTALER”
Answer - “UCP” because UCP is “cup” scrambled.
INITIALS - The initials of the words in the sentence spell the answer.
Question - “INITIALLY, EAGLES OPENED NUT”
Answer - “EON”.
ROMAN NUMERALS - The roman numerals for 1,000 are often used in clues.
Question - “LOSE 10 TO SEE A BACKWARD ASIAN COUNTRY”
Answer - “MAXIS” because if you take away X (=10) from “MAXIS” and you’ll see SIAM
in reverse.
