# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (WOULD YOU MIND)

-
Would you mind? = would it bother you? = would it make you uncomfortable?
Would you mind? = Would it be a problem for you?
-

# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (GERUND):

-
Gerund acts as a Noun.
It is made of a root of a verb + ing.
It expresses action or state of being, but as a noun.
-

# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (WHY DO WE USE PAST TENSE FOR CONDITIONAL?)

-
We use the Past Simple tense to talk about the future condition.

The important thing about the second conditional is that there is an unreal possibility that the
condition will happen.
-

# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (WOULD part of speech):

-
Would is an auxiliary verb - a modal auxiliary verb. We use would mainly to: talk about the past.
-

# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (Do, Does, Did):

-
Auxiliary verb is a verb that determines the mood, tense, voice, or aspect of another verb in a
verb phrase

Auxiliary verbs include be, do, and have along with modals such as can, might, and will.

Do, Does are used for present simple.

Did is used for past simple.
-

# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (CONDITIONALS / IF CLAUSES)

-
Zero conditional:
(general truths, facts, habits)
if + present simple, present simple
E.g. If you heat ice, it melts.
E.g. Ice melts if you heat it.
E.g. When you heat ice, it melts.

Zero conditional questions:

E.g. If you have free time, what do you like to do?
E.g. If you combine hot oil and water, what happens?

First conditional:
(possible or likely things in the future)
If + present simple, will + infinitive.
E.g. If it rains later, we will stay at home.
E.g. She will miss the bus if she doesn't leave soon.

First conditional questions:

E.g. If it rains tomorrow, what will you do?
E.g. What will you do if you get lost?

Second conditional:
(impossible things in the present / unlikely things in the future)
If + past simple, would + infinitive
E.g. If I won the lottery, I would sail round the world.

Would you mind if i asked you to do something?

Would + infinitive + if + past simple

Second conditional questions:

E.g. What would you do if you won the lottery?
E.g. If you won the lottery, what would you do?

Third conditional:
(Things that didn't happen in the past and their imaginary results)
If + past perfect, would + have + past participle
E.g. If I had studied harder, I would have passed the exam.

Third conditional questions:

E.g. If you had won the lottery, what would you have bought?
E.g. What would you have worn if the weather had been different this morning?

Past participle refers to an action that was started and completed entirely in the past.
It’s the third column in the table where we have 1 infinitive, 2 past simple, 3 past participle
E.g. Do, Did, Done (Done is past participle.
-
# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (ANSWER TO WOULD YOU MIND)
-
"So if the answer is No. It means that I wouldn't mind."
"Which is similar to saying No problem."
***(USE THE CHAT BOX)***
No, I wouldn't mind. (No problem, I agree.)

"And if the answer is Yes. It means that I would mind."

"Which is similar to saying it is a problem."
***(USE THE CHAT BOX)***

-

# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (ING FROM] VS [IF + PAST SIMPLE FORM VERB)

-
"There is no difference, at this level of english.
"It's very little difference."
"IF + VERB in PAST SIMPLE FORM is more polite, more formal, more distant."
***(USE THE CHAT BOX)***
[If] + [verb in past simple form] is more polite than [ing form]
-

# EXPLANATION SCRIPT: (I CAN'T STAND)
