problem of the study.

This chapter presents the summary of findings, conclusions drawn and

recommendations offered.

Summary of Findings

The study entitled “The Utilization of Chitin Extracted from Bighead Carp

(Hypophthalmychtis nobilis) Scales as bioplastic material” aims to (1) Identify if

there is any significant difference between the plastic made without and with fish

scale in terms of physical properties (Color, Odor and Texture), (2) Determine if

there is any significant difference between the plastic made without and with fish

scale in terms of Durability (Tensile Strength, Percent Elongation and Tear

Resistance), and (3) The time it will take for the resulting bioplastic to

biodegrade.

Based on the analysis and interpretation of data, the following findings are

summarized.

Recommendation

Based on the findings and conclusions drawn, the following

recommendations are offered:

 Be careful with the chemical concentrations, it will be best if the future

researchers can find the exact concentrations that is needed per chemical

to avoid difficulties.

 Avoid using any branded gelatin in creating the bioplastic, this has an

effect on the texture and elasticity based on the observations made by the

researchers

 A parallel study can be conducted using different methods and variables in

making bioplastic.

 For future researchers, we recommend you to continue this study and

make improvements on the bioplastic’s mechanical and physical

properties.
