Legends on First Try Presentatio n Adian 2 3 trying cultural twists (egyptian) but needs to work on storytelling through line. Good group effort on presentation, covered all material and knew the background info well - well done collaborative work. Allison 3 3 Intonates properly when reading poetry. Attempted free-verse before being taught and did it well. Awesome first myth with many neat additions (Vikings, Norse) but a little confused on myths and gods - overall interesting idea though. While the group obviously had some power issues, they did a great job presenting and connecting the science of the myth to the story - they went above and beyond explaining the elements of the story. It was fantastic to have the chase of Scorpio on the ground and the sky explained - highly memorable. Ben laptop 3 Enjoys free verse poetry - writing about historic boats. Did well analyzing the indigenous Orion myth, and comparing the two cultures (greek versus native american), and chose to go beyond and act it out to showcase it better than it was written. Braxden 1 3 needs to be caught up on myths from missing first 2 days. Group presentation was extremely well done - lots of background information researched and the myth was well-explained. Burhan 2 2 really intriguing first legend BUT copying Caleb? Presentation was a little goofy, and hard to hear - overall the information was there but they didn’t present it with a lot of clarity. Caleb 2 3 Copied from Burhan? Very dark and interesting story but needs more time writing. Good group effort on presentation, covered all material and knew the background info well - well done collaborative work. Chloe 2 3 Wolf story first - focusing on characters a little too much. Delena absent 3 Group presentation was extremely well done - lots of background information researched and the myth was well-explained. Drayden 0 1 Needs motivation through relevant examples (titanic). Wouldn’t write any first piece, but spoke of an awesome myth about a rogue wave created by Poseidon that took out some historical ship - neat story just not written. While the group presentation was well-done, Drayden was absent for most of the work, and when his group prompted him to help or speak up he shirked away. Hailey 3 3 Embracing dramatic storytelling and really coming out of her shell! Very personal first story - needs a bit more thought but great idea and through line. Group presentation was excellent - group shared, voiced well and supported each other. Wrote personal thoughts and interpretation of myth - asked a lot of good questions about the storey and analyzed well. Hudson 3 3 Great story idea - fun, creative, and very Hudson. Really eager to continue her writing and is working on developing a deeper story, enjoys the prompted creativity, not full creativity (wanted to miss art to write!). La’Zaria 3 3 Creepy and catchy first try - BUT says its a myth then writes like a “Blood Mary” style story. Group presentation was excellent - group shared, voiced well and supported each other. William 3 3 Highly engaged with myth and legends - lots of prior knowledge to build from. Good basis on planning. Lots of background knowledge just needs to get to writing the story. Yebin n.a 3 participated in the group presentation and spoke in front of the class - did shirk away further into it but nice to see her jumping out of her comfort zone. Zach B. 2 2 planning for first story done with WIlliam - learned a lot of basic myth connections and planned a decent story but was so focused on that he didn't get to writing. Could be an interesting story though (Ares, Typhon, and beasts...lots of battle). Presentation was a little goofy, and hard to hear - overall the information was there but they didn’t present it with a lot of clarity. Zaiser 0 2 Group presentation was extremely well done - lots of background information researched and the myth was well-explained. Zaiser was not particularly helpful to his group during the process though. Zenah laptop 3 Embracing creative performance, really helping others understand and remember and I think she learns a lot from it too.
