Introduction
The following tables list torque values for standard hardware. They are intended as a guide for
average applications involving typical stresses and machined surfaces.
Torque values are measured in Newton meters (Nm) and foot pounds (ft. lb.), according to grade,
diameter and application (i.e. dry or lubricated).
NOTE: Length of the nut or bolt does not affect the torque value.
In all cases, when an individual torque value is specified elsewhere in the service manual, it
should take precedence over values given in this table. Always replace original hardware with
hardware of equal grade.
