This document describes a city built into the mountains in Shanxi, China. It expresses wonder at how and why the city was constructed in such an inaccessible location. The author speculates that it is a Buddhist monastery, as monasteries are known for building in extreme and inaccessible but beautiful natural settings. The document questions how the city obtains water, power, sewage systems given its remote location high in the mountains.

This is amazing and we have to wonder how, why and when did they do this. From where & how do they get water...power....sewer.....? How did they build all this?? And why..way.."up there"!! My best guess is that this is a Buddhist Monestary – They are noted for building in the most extreme, inacessible, but scenicly speaking, some of the most beautiful places there is.
